"BUT I DON'T WANT TO BE KILLING ADORABLE LITTLE CATS IN A TECH MOD"
Well, it sorta is like that, but it's not really like that...
FelineTech would be a mod that would Weaponize and and put cats to deadly use.
How to start FelineTech (FT for short)
To start FT, you must go to the jungle to tame an ocelot, but there's a difference, there's different kinds of cats such as tigers, tiny cats, big poofy ones, long ones, and short ones. But you'll need more powerful bait to tame those.
You tame your cat, but you would need to craft a thing called a cat transport
It would look like a crate with holes in it
It is created with:

I=Iron
X= none

You would right click (Or shift click) your tamed cat with the cat transport and you officially have a cat in a box, you take this cat to a machine called a vibration transmitter, to set up this, you put a block for the cat to stand on, but first you would need to craft the purr stabilizer, which would power the machine

You hook this up to a weapon, there's a lot of weapons created with different parts, think of it like tinkerer's construct, but with guns.
For a simple cat you caught, you can make a vibration blaster, this weapon would be charged by the cat in the purr stabilizer, which is moved into the gun with the transmitter and sound tubes.
Note: The crafting recipes should be changed from normal crafting to a special crafting tables, feel free to suggest what could change.

This is the weakest of the cat weapons, it fires a sound wave that travels faster based on what cat you caught and put in the machine, it would need to be reinforced more if the cat is louder.
Anyway, to power the cat, you have to feed it and pet it by right clicking it while shift clicking. You can feed the cat with fish, and with other meats if it doesn't have the "Picky eater" trait. That still means you can't tame higher tier cats with things like rotten flesh, steak, or cake. The vanilla foods only go up to uncommon-rare cats.
Anyways, I don't want to spend all that much time explaining most of the recipes, so i'll go to what the cats are and what you tame them with, along with the weapons they create.

Can tame legendary cats,Brain shattering, colossal, Ultra fluffy, Or solar cats.
Let's begin on the cat's traits on weapons
Uncommon, rare, epic, legendary cats
These cats can be right clicked with a thing to change what the affect on the weapon will be, for example, right click a rare cat with blaze powder to change it into a fire one. To explain how they work more clearly, you right click a cat of a certain tier with an item (Right clicking Uncommon cat with catnip makes it a loud cat). I will put the list of uncommon cat's changes and the items they're changed with, you basically use the same items on the higher tier cats.
+ catnip = loud

+ comb= fluffy
+ blaze powder = warm.

Catnip is found in jungles/plains in groups of 3-5. Drops 2-3 catnip leaves upon hit.
Can be crafted into catnip by placing a catnip leaf in a crafting table
They take the same affect of materials you would make the cat guns with using other cats.
The loud, super loud, ear piercing, and brain shattering are used on sound weapons, like the first example with the cat, they would focus on knocking back and throwing enemies far, used best as a delay for enemies. It deals a considerate amount of damage too.
Weapon effects:
Iron: normal effect
Diamond: shoots enemy high into the air and slowly floats them down to the ground while they have a DoT affect on. Highest tier version of this weapon would cause a large explosion when they lightly touch the ground and throws them far.
Gold: creates a gravitational pull and blasts cat far, like a gravity gun. Take that advent of ascension enemies!
Chubby, fat, huge, and colossal cats would be used to damage enemies on the ground,it would fire a large ball that looks like a cat that would create a shockwave that has an AoE. Heck, it even launches enemies into the air. You only have a few shots, so it's more of a second last resort when you're swarmed by enemies.
Weapon effects.
Iron= Normal effect
Diamond= Cat is launched at high velocity without the large AOE attack, deals massive damage upon direct hit.
Gold= Cat gun is fired faster
Furry, fluffy, poofy, and ultra fluffy cats would focus on electric weapons, which would quickly mow down enemies at a close range. The higher the level, the faster it creates electric. If it runs out of ammo when you're fighting, you can hold (or rapidly press) right mouse to pet the cat rapidly in order to build up static. The higher the cat's rarity, the faster it charges.
Weapon effects.
Iron: normal weapon affect
Diamond: Lightning is instead fired in large bursts (like a shotgun), if each hit the enemy at the same time, it applies a high level slowness affect.
Gold: Creates sparks where ever the shot lands, sparks burn enemies. Fires a bit faster.
Warm, fire, hell, and solar cats would, obviously enough, focuses on putting a DoT affect on enemies, it would burn them faster (And can even ignore damage immunity) with stronger cats. The gun would have two modes, which is toggled by a key on your keyboard or holding shift and right-clicking. One mode fires in a wide area and pushes back enemies at the same time, as if it were a dangerous leafblower, the second mode would eject fire charges that do moderate damage.
Weapon effects:
Iron: normal affect
Diamond: When using second mode, fire charges have chance to be coal that creates an explosion upon hit.
Gold: Faster usetime with second mode.
Another mechanic, oh boy, this one is utilizing the warm cats to increase furnace speed, and even removing the need of using fuel itself :
If you hate furnaces requiring fuel, then this is for you. You can place a warm, fire, hell, or solar cat near a furnace and they'll power them in a 3x3 area. Meaning you can create 8 furnaces that don't require fuel or speed it up depending on the tier.
Warm cats will speed up the process by 1.25x.
Fire cats will speed up the process by 1.5x
hellcats will speed up the process by 2x and remove the need of fuel
Solar cats will speed up the process by 4x and remove the need of fuel.
And a new, cringey mechanic called fluffy-alloying:
If you place several fluffy cats on pedestals in an 6x6-9x9 area on the angles, an iron block in the middle, and add a furnace on the side of the iron block. After that, shift-right click the furnace and it'll turn into a alloy forge. If you place a set amount of materials on the iron block by dropping things upon it, then place a fish into the forge itself; it'll power the cats to alloy the materials you placed on the iron block together by utilizing the static the cats generate. Some of which CAN include iron + coal to obtain steel as an example. You'd have to utilize the cone to power the cats in the process of alloying the materials. This is also another way to obtain diamonds. But this requires several poofy cats or a couple of ultra-fluffy cats and a few fish. As diamond IS a required material in viridium.
And yes; you place the fluffy cats using the boxes
A few other materials are added to this mod, decide what they'll be used for when utilized in the cat weapons:
Pigmintite, created by surrounding an iron ore by 8 cooked porkchops in a crafting table. When put in a furnace, it will create a pigmintite ingot, like any ore, can be made into tools with an exception of hoes. It has a chance, when harvesting coal, wood, or dirt if made into a tool, to drop raw porkchops instead of the harvested block. This could be some kind of way to restore hunger in combat since it can also make enemies drop porkchops upon death if made into firearms or lethal blades.
Cyansteel, based off of the roblox material under the name "bluesteel". Though having the name "steel" doesn't mean it's an alloy, but a durable metal found deep in the earth. Not as rare as diamond though. It is quite tough on it's own and possesses the ability of slight fire aspect. Even though it has these existing traits itself doesn't mean it's very powerful actually- the flaw is that it has weaker damage and the fact that it has a chance to just be discolored iron ore. Similar to pyrite and gold being mistaken.
Viridium, if cyansteel gets enough heat and pressure; it'll strengthen into a nearly indestructible material that is far more powerful than diamond- and stronger than steel. A sword will roughly do 7.5 hearts of damage, being a tiny bit more than 2x of that of a diamond sword. And possesses 2.5x the durability of a diamond tool itself. Though being true and all, the flaw is that you require 4 diamonds, 3 cyansteel ores, and atleast a few high-tier fluffy cats to generate enough electricity to generate the heat it requires.
TL;dr.
Blah blah, tech mod that weaponize cats that are tamable, blah blah, allows you to modify them and use them for situations.
If this was way too long and boring, you can say that the wall of text has awoken and play this:
Holy crap, why hasn't this already been made a mod?!
Also, could you please explain the different types of cats in more depth?
That's the problem, I would have to explain every biome they're found in, along with the materials you can make the cat weapons with. Someone should make mod support addon for this which would add even more materials to make the cat weapons with.
I recovered this thread, thinking about adding more content:
If someone continues to develop this as a mod itself, the fluffy cats can be used as electricity sources and probably some cross mod compatibility with some mods that require an energy source.
I should REALLY revise the material system with more balancing. The stone and wood parts should be taken out, and left with iron, gold, diamond, and any other material the mod creator decides to allow.
Hmm, maybe there could be a type of cat whose purrs heal any players nearby?
Depends, this COULD be powered by feeding it treats to 'fuel' it for a set amount of time. Similar to the likes of the fallen kanade from botania requiring mana to operate.
EDIT: this mod is becoming more like a side-mod to help players. Moreso like a utility mod, which i'm fine with myself.
