greetings I am known as the spider overlord, and I happen to be a big fan of thaumcraft 2 (and later versions). the reason I liked tc2 was because of forbidden knowledge and the eldritch knowledge, but since Azanor Is already adding the eldritch back in I have decided to release this idea... aside from the fact I miss tc2 a lot I have also made this idea because necromancy mods just weren't getting necromancy straight: necromancy Is more of a Frankenstein monster style mod than a necromancy mod (it itself is a "Frankenstein monster" because it combines: a basic form of blood magi, a basic form of soul reaping (actual necromancy) and Frankenstein-yness into one thing), harken scythe was just a mod merging soul reaping and blood magi and although it had a necronomicon it wasn't really a necromancy mod (still pretty good through) , witchery is a cool mod and gets very close to actual necromancy but wasn't exactly perfect (necromancers use staves not potions), however tc2 hit the mark: it was perfect. so here are the ideas:
necronomicon: this item is required to unlock the necromancy tab in the thaumonomicon (the necronomicon is obtained as very rare dungeon loot, as the practice of necromancy was forbade by the first thaumic wardens)
compound aspect: maulum: this aspect resembles evil at it's height it also resembles: malice and the nether. it composes of alienalis and ignis. you can find it in all things to do with the nether and the undead.
enchantment: soul reaping: its level goes up to 3 and is a starting way of getting soul fragments (drop chance depends on level and health of mob being struck)
soul fragments: when consumed you will gain half of a soul heart, which acts as a shield for your health (you will gain temporal warp through)
the undead: the most well known part of necromancy, it focuses on controlling and summoning the undead. be careful through: many necromancers have fell to the undead.
amulet of death: an amulet that can be equipped in the baubles inventory, when equipped you can control the undead (zombies, skeletons, wither skeletons, angry zombies, furious zombies, and shambling husks) by asserting your will on them. to assert you will you must strike the selected undead mob, once under the player's control the undead mob will follow you and will attack all hostile or struck mobs (you can tell if the undead mob is your "servant" by looking for black particles on the mob) controlled undead mobs will not attack each other (oddly enough spiders, cave spiders, and mind spiders can be controlled as well...) the amulet can have runic shielding applied to it. recipe: (infusion) mundane amulet, wither skull, 2 void metal ingots, 64 examanis, 64 maulum, 64 alienalis instability: negligible
altar of necromancy: this altar is designed to summon undead mobs, for it too summon the undead through it requires 3 things: souls, a undead creatures skull or head, and a redstone signal. for it to collect souls it must drain souls from compatible entities: peaceful, neutral, and (most) hostile mobs incompatible entities: man made constructs (golems and trunks), bosses, champions, npc's, pets, spiders, undead mobs, eldritch mobs, crimson cultists, tainted mobs, and players. the skull or head selected must be an undead creature's (angry zombie, furious zombie, and shambling husk heads included) and must be placed in a mob head shaped slot in the altar's gui (it also shows how many souls there are) the selected undead skull/head will make so that the mobs summoned are based off of the head/skull. finally a Redstone signal is required to turn off/on the altar (this can also be done in the altar's gui) note: the undead mobs summoned by the altar will have slowness, weakness, and blindness temporarily inflicted so necromancers will have a easier time gaining control. (in the gui of the altar there is a dial that shows the phase of the moon, the altar also seems more efficient and faster during a full moon rather then a new moon) recipe: (infusion) obsidian totem, bone, rotten flesh, skull, zombie brain, 4 void metal ingots, 64 alienalis, 64 maulum, 64 cognitio, 64 examanis, 64 spiritus. instability: minor
wand focus: bone: the wand focus of nine hells is all fun and good, but a necromancer uses the undead not firebats! this wand focus for the cost of perditio will summon skeletal minions witch will fight for there master, however they will not follow and will dissipate in 1 minute after being summoned. recipe: (infusion) skull, 4 bones, 4 void seeds, 64 examanis, 64 maulum, 64 perdition, 8 alienalis instability: minor upgrades: potency, frugal, flaming arrows, intelligence, increased existence, and...
wand focus: bone, tier 5 upgrade: withered: when this upgrade is applied to the wand focus: bone the skeletal minions summoned by it will become withered skeletal minions that will use stone swords rather than bows, they will also wither foes upon strike and will be affected by intelligence and increased existence upgrades.
soul reaping: this part of necromancy focuses on souls: the very essence of life and death. this however isn't most recommended for the more sane of necromancers as souls do occasionally whisper dark secrets...
soul reaper equipment: necromancers who study soul reaping often become soul reapers, who often have a certain attire for there sinister purposes: soul reaper's scythe: using the strange metal known as void metal you have managed to forge the very weapon every soul reaper needs: the soul reaper's scythe (7.5+ damage). the scythe has several interesting abilities: first of all the hence the fact the scythe is forged from void metal it has self repairing on it, second of all it has a built in soul reaping 1 enchant (will stack with soul reaping 3), third of all the scythe has a slightly higher chance to decapitate the head of a creature, and finely the scythe can harvest plant matter without sustaining as much as a scratch. recipe: (arcane workbench) 2 primal stave cores, 1 soul fragment, 3 void metal ingots, 100 perdio. soul reaper's robes: every soul reaper must be dressed in the classic reaper's attire, so you have created new robes: soul reaper's robes. the robes have several interesting features: first of all the robes have self repairing as they use void metal, second of all in addition to a vis discount the robes will also have a soul reaping discount as well, which will increase the chance for soul fragments to be obtained by the soul reaper's scythe, third of all the hood functions as goggles of revealing, and last of all the boots function as boots of the traveler but are more faster and allow the player to jump higher. the robes also can have runic shielding applied to them. recipe: (infusion) void thaumaturge armor piece or boots of the traveller, 3 void metal ingots, soul fragment, 2 enchanted fabric, 100 spiritus, 100 tutamen, 100 alienalis, 100 maulum, 100 motus (if boots of the traveler), 100 sensus (if void thaumaturge hood). instability: moderate
ring of souls: even thru you have created soul reaper equipment, you still feel like you aren't getting enough soul fragments to that end you have created a bauble that will fix that problem: the ring of souls. the ring can be inserted into the correct slot in the baubles inventory. to activate one can either shift click or use the enable key in the keyboard (default: u) when active the ring will convert a certain amount of exp to create soul fragments however it only collects one 4th of the exp you collect. 2 rings will use half of the exp collected when active. the ring can have runic shielding applied. recipe: (infusion) mundane ring, 3 void metal, soul fragment, 100 spiritus, 100 alienalis, 100 maulum. instability: moderate
brazier of souls: after creating the ring of souls you have encountered another problem: you have too many soul fragments! to combat this you have devised a plan to get rid of the extra soul fragments: burn them! the brazier is the fruit of you labor and not only will burn souls but will also use them to transmutate items! you have also noticed the brazier has a moon dial and is more efficient during a full moon rather then a new moon. (standing near the brazier while it is burning souls is not recommended through...) recipe: (arcane workbench) 5 void metal ingots, soul fragment, 170 perditio. transmutation recipes: skull -> wither skull, player head -> zombie head, zombie head -> angry zombie head, angry zombie head -> furious zombie head, furious zombie head -> shambling husk head, seeds -> void seed, eye of ender -> eye of the eldritch, leather -> rotten flesh.
the corrupted cult: after the fall of the yog-age necromancy became widespread and many cults were formed under it, of the most powerful of the cults was the cult of corruption or the corrupted cult. the cult worshiped the eldritch and in return the eldritch gave them various artifacts to make the cult more powerful. however after the rise of the first thaumic wardens the cult along with many others soon were destroyed. however it appears that the crimson cult seem to be using necronomicons from the corrupted cult as there crimson rites, which seems very strange...
mask of corruption: after translating a crimson rites tome, you have discovered that many of the corrupted cultists had worn masks. after more research you have discovered how to re create the masks. the mask of corruption has several interesting abilities: first of all the masks have self repairing due to the fact they are made of void metal, second of all the mask (when active, shift click or press v to enable/disable) will shoot eldritch lightning bolts at whatever the wearer is looking at that will wither, weaken, and malnourish the target, and last but not least all undead mobs (and strangely enough: spiders of all kinds) will be neutral to the wearer. the mask can have runic shielding applied. recipe: (arcane workbench) 7 void metal ingots, 2 entropy shards, 150 perditio.
hood of the void watcher: after more research on the corrupted cult, you have discovered that thier leader, the corrupted one had a hood known as the hood of the void watcher. you have now discovered the hood of the void watcher is nothing more then a soul reaper's hood with a mask of corruption attached. the hood has the abilities of both of both of its parent armor pieces but it also has extra warping on it. the primordial pearl used in the recipe is not consumed. the hood can have runic shielding. recipe: (infusion) soul reaper's hood, mask of corruption, 2 void metal ingots, primordial pearl, 200 tutamen, 200 maulum, 200 spiritus, 200 alienalis, 200 sensus, 200 telum instability: very high
scythe of the void reaper: apparently the corrupted one had more than a hood he also had a scythe. the scythe of the void reaper is the ultimate weapon dealing 11+ attack damage, it not only has soul reaping 2 built in, but it also has eldritch sapping (weakens, malnourishes, and withers anything struck by it) soon even the gods will fear you! mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha! the primordial pearl used in the recipe will not be consumed. recipe: (infusion) reaper's scythe, 3 void metal ingots, primordial pearl, 250 telum, 250 maulum, 250 alienalis, 250 spiritus. instability: dangerous
if you wish to create the mod, feel free to do so as long as you have all of the stuff listed above.

thanks I've been thinking of this mod for some time and I do know how the basics of coding, but these ideas are for a pro to code
