Upon watching this video based off of this project, I tried to think of what games would benefit from an easy-to-understand 360° field of view. Immediately I thought of Minecraft, thinking of how useful it would be, spelunking down in a cave, being able to see everything around you.
Now, if I'm not mistaken, you can already get a ridiculously large FoV by default in Minecraft, but the default projection makes it nauseating (at least for me).
So yeah, the idea here is to modify how Minecraft projects higher FoV's, up to the full 360. In particular, I would LOVE to see the projection he uses in the video (Winkel Tripel) but possibly others as well.
I have no idea if something like this is even possible, and I'm far too busy with other projects to get into Minecraft modding at the moment, so tell me what you think!
Also, if something like this already exists, I apologize, I wasn't able to find it myself.

If Minecraft's max FoV is nauseating, how the heck will a 360 degree FoV not be nauseating?
By changing the projection of the camera. Watch the video/read what I said.
Except making a coremod or editing base classes. Making a coremod is very difficult, and editing base classes is a definite no-no
