Hi there. Today I am going to present an idea for mod (again). I might already exist so if it does, please paste the link here. Anyway, back to my idea.
The Mirror Dimension
To access this dimension, you have to craft and place down a mirror, which MIGHT costs glass panes, iron, and wood. The mirror is NOT mine-able and therefore after placing it down, it breaks if you try to mine it, like glass. After placing down a mirror, you have to throw an Ender Pearl at it and the surface will begin to swirl like a Nether portal. Bam, there's your Mirror Dimension Portal.
The Mirror Dimension is pretty much the same with the Overworld, except that it's inverted. Example, if your mirror is facing South and you enter the portal, you end up in the Mirror Dimension, facing North. everything is inverted like a reflection. The Mirror Dimension has no Vanilla mobs and animals, but it has it's own dangers. The blocks in The Mirror Dimension are NOT mine-able. If you happen to come across a Diamond Ore and you try to mine it, a "Fracture Block" will replace the block you broke. A Fracture Block is like a crack in a dimension. It sucks you towards it and deals damage to you when you touches it.
Other than that, a new mob, The Remnants. A Remnant is a broken reflection of a mob, villager or any other living stuffs in the Overworld. A remnant is created when the reflection of any of the mobs listed above on a surface of a mirror when the mirror is broken. They looks like broken pieces of glass floating around like a Blaze and attacks any players on sight. They spawn naturally in small quantities in The Mirror Dimension regardless of light level. They deals medium damage but move extremely slowly.
If you are playing in Multiplayer/ server, having someone in the Overworld while you're in The Mirror Dimension is not a good thing. If a player happens to pass through a mirror and getting his reflection caught on it while you're inside, a "Player Reflection" is spawned. Just like Herobrine, it attacks the player inside the Mirror Dimension and will attempt to stop you from leaving by destroying the mirror you came in from or the one you are approaching.
So far, the only function I thought for this dimension is a temporary safe house (Though Not so safe with the Remnants) and also a shortcut (Without having to fight vanilla mobs) to other places.
Well, that's it. Please let me know if you're interested, thank you.

I guess the issue I'm seeing here is: Why even bother going to the mirror realm if there's nothing good there?
What can get gained from going to the mirror realm?
A neat idea would be a potion of reflection made from "Fracture blocks". You brew an awkward potion with one of them to get a poly-juice potion. Drinking it as is, will do nothing, but if you brew in a creeper, skeleton, zombie, wither skeleton, or player head to change your form to that form.
If you have a player's head of someone else you can drink a potion with that head to take the minecraft-skin of that player.
