Hello. all I want is a mod with a consumable item which will allow you to set a command to it to use. so, if I wanted to have an item that gave me a bunch of stuff with the give command, I would be able to select that individual command item and place the command in it, then use it. this would be mainly for map making and the like, as I need an item that doesn't exist in game to do something that a command can. an example of this would be:
I take the item out of creative, use it once to set a command for that SINGLE item (meaning each different iteration of that item can have different commands on each item) then I could place that new item with the command assigned to it in a chest or other such, and when the map is played, someone comes along, takes the item out of the chest, uses it, the item is consumed, and it activates a command, lets say /give player diamond_sword 1
then the player would now have a diamond sword in their inventory from the command item, and the item is no longer there. this could be used to give out a whole satchel full of items all at once, or activate another command.
Thx for reading.
EDIT: the request has been completed, by a man going by the name of stewbasic. take a look over here at the github (if he does make a forum page, i will also link that too):
think of the infinity orb from ars magica 2. the orb, upon right clicking, gives you a research point and then the orb is gone from your inventory, as in poof, instant use. except i want an instant use command item. once it is used, command is played and then its gone baby. maybe you could implement (as a little eye treatment) a way to change what the actual command item looks like. as in place an item in this slot to change the look of the item before locking the look and the command. so you can have an iron ingot item that would give you an anvil or set the time to day or change the scoreboard by one or really any command that is really in the game.
