I would like a plugin that would allow players (with the correct permissions) to paste in a direct image URL for a skin into a simple command, and have the skin visibly applied to them in-game to all other players without the need for logging out.
The generated folder would hold a config file saving the skin URLs of every player with their Minecraft username, so there would be no need for uploading the skin to an external site.
Essentially, I would like a bukkit(Spigot) compatible version of this spout-dependent plugin, but without requiring Spoutcraft, as that client is outdated and pretty much incompatible with everything (custom cape support not necessary).
-If this would be impossible/too much work, a plugin that simply allowed the refreshing of skins uploaded to minecraft.net for whoever enters the command would also work. That way, to change skins, a player could simply upload the new skin to minecraft.net, type a command like "/skins refresh", and have their skin instantly updated.
To be honest, I'd really like to be able to change my skin in-game, especially in singleplayer. Why? Because I'd like my skin to match my current activity. If I'm chopping down forests, I'd like to use a lumberjack skin; for farming, a farmer skin; for slaying mobs, my usual dragonborn skin; for mining, a mining skin. Though I can use ClothingCraft to do that so far, I'd like to do it via skin-switching.

Thank you for resurrecting this thread, as the plugin/mod still hasn't been filled.
However, there are some changes I'd like to make to the original request, as it's been a while; the biggest being that I would like to stick with just using Bukkit plugins as much as possible.
Well, skin-switching in singleplayer would be good for adventure maps, as someone could make a command that switches the player's skin in-game to match a particular part of their map or a particular quest, and it would work for someone taking pictures of themselves for survival journals.

I suppose it could, but my personal intentions for this would be role-play servers; specifically if a player wanted to change their character's clothing, or switch to an alternate character entirely.
i want to change skin in the game is there a mod?
