Well, is there anything special about the different gems? Otherwise, it'd just be a repeat of almost every modders first or second mod. Like for example, the Turquoise(Aquamarine?) could let you breathe underwater, etc.
well I am ok with you creating the mod you can name whatever and i dont care if its in 1.6.4 or 1.7.2 but if you do make it give just a little credit to me and i am trying to get my parents to let me get PC and i am thinking of the ability's it could have
Aquamarine Armour: gives you the ability to breathe underwater
Amethyst Armour: gives you the ability to blend in with your surroundings(helpful in hunger games)
Citrine Armour: gives you the ability to morph in to any animal(trollers would like it)
Garnet Armour: gives you super speed
Pearl Armour: gives you light in the dark(good when mining and building in the dark)
Peridot Armour: gives you super jump(good if you fall of of something and you cant get back up)
Sapphire Armour: gives you more XP when killing mobs
Opal Armour: when wearing the boots it prevents you from falling(does not make you walk slower like crouching does! it just stops you from going of the edge)
Ruby Armour: gives you the power of a spider (climbing walls,jumping etc.)
Turquoise Armour: gives you the ability to fly for a total of 20 seconds
There are the ability for the Armour please no hate and if you do want to make this you can add any ability for the tools (if you have better idea's for the Armour please leave a suggestion)

You can create Rings(you can use this Mod with Minecraft Comes Alive)
