This mod allows you to have your own Iron Man armor that you can upgrade and dye custom colors.
Detailed descriptions are with the items.
Wool Undersuit
Same recipe as normal armor, except wool instead of leather/iron/gold/diamond
Same durability as leather, but no protection
Prototype Helmet (where = redstone and = wool undersuit)
Arc Reactor (where = glowstone block)
Repulsor (where = hopper)
Prototype Chestplate (where = arc reactor and = repulsor)
Prototype Arms (where =leather)
Prototype Pants
Jets (where is actual TNT)
Prototype Boots (where = jets)
These still serve no protection and have leather durability, but the helmet allows waterbreathing and nightvision, the chestplate powers the whole thing, the arms let you fire repulsors (right click with empty hand), the pants give you bonus jump height, and the boots allow you to fly by double-jumping.
Iron Plate (where = iron block)
(gives 12 plates)
You can dye these iron plates like so:
(where = some sort of dye and = iron plate)
You can replace the red and yellow plates with plates of any color, so long as each section is all the same color.
Iron Man Helmet (where = prototype armor, =color A iron plate, and = color B iron plate)
Iron Man Chestplate
Iron Man Arms (where =prototype arms)
Iron Man Leggings
Iron Man Boots
These have the abilities of the prototype armor, but with the protection of iron armor and the durability of diamond armor. Note that replusors and flight both cost power to use. Once the arc reactor is burned out, you can fix it using an anvil:
+
There are also several upgrades you can craft onto the suit.
Missile Launcher (where = dispenser)
Missiles are taken from the inventory
Missiles (where = paper and = actual TNT)
(gives 2 missiles)
Computer Chip (where = iron plate)
Homing Missile (where = computer chip)
(gives 2)
Pathfinding Missile
(gives 2)
Heads Up Display (where = glowstone dust)
This gives you information about the armor onscreen.
J.A.R.V.I.S. (where = jukebox)
This gives you voice notifications about things.
Palladium Crystal
When crafted with the arc reactor, this doubles maximum power.
(where = arc reactor and = palladium crystal)
This new arc reactor must be placed into a completely new chestplate to be used.
To add upgrades to the suit, place them into the anvil like so:
JARVIS + Iron Man Helmet
HUD + Iron Man Helmet
Missile Launcher + Iron Man Chestplate
Suit up plate
Right click to retrieve suit, stand on it to suit up/down
Suit display case
Can be hooked up to suit up plates, right click to open
Still working on villain boss mob ideas...
Aldrich Killian
This is a boss mob, similar to the Ender Dragon.
He will be able to shoot Ghast-style fireballs, and his melee attack will set you on fire and do 5&1/2 hearts of damage to an unarmored player. He also occasionally spawns Extremis Soldiers, which are way less powerful versions of him that drop burned flesh. When killed, he drops Extremis blood, which you can craft next to a computer chip to make a Heat Resistance Unit. Extremis blood can also be made with 9 burned flesh. The HRU can be placed onto the chestplate via an anvil, and when applied, it will halve damage from Extremis and make you IMMUNE to fire and lava.
Please leave NICE comments describing what I should change!
So, yeah, but why not make basic armor, but more like this.
What you'd need is another armor slot for gloves. And every armor piece can have a special use.
Helmet: requires iron in helmet shape in the top to columns. In between the lower two pieces, you put your colored dye. Next, two glass panes beneath the iron in the bottom column, and then the Jarvis chip, whip I suppose could be glowstone in a +sign with iron all around. When you wear the helmet, it gives you JARVIS
Chest. Would be crafted in two parts. You would make a chest, and then put your dye in the empty spot. You then get a blank chestplate. Then you put in the arc reactor in with the chestplate. The reactor is crafted with a glass pane in the center of your crafting table with a redstone in all the corners, Then iron in the empty spaces to finish up. I think your reactor should be able to send an indefinite redstone current, that gives your suit pieces power. You should be able to wear an arc reactor without the chest. An attack move could be that if you hit attack, and hold, there could be regular repulsor ray, then arc. Arc kills everything, but it could drain your power for a bit.
Arms: these could be made with four iron in two lines from the top of the crafting table, and then a dye anywhere. You then put two repulsors In, beneath the two different lines. These could be made like a reactor, but switch the places of the iron and redstone. These should be able to fire repulsor rays.
Legs: since his legs don't do to much, it could be said they are crafted normally, with dye.
Shoes: Now, these should be made like the arms, but with jets instead of repulsors. Jets should be constructed with blaze powder in the center of the crafting table, with redstone in the corner, and iron everywhere else. These allow you to fly, like you would in the creative menu.
If you don't put dyes, you have blank armor, silver. I also would suggest getting upgrades, specific to your armor, as iron man has many different armors, that do many different things. You should get them by defeating in comic iron man villains.
One last interesting idea would be to have a little landing pad, that upon entering or exiting, would armor up, or down you. I suggest a pressure plate Shift-clicked onto a chest to hold your armor, and an arc reactor.
I really like your idea and wish I could be of more help than suggestions, but yet, a modder I am not.

I appreciate the suggestion, original post updated!
You can take my source code for the IronMan Mod on Github (https://github.com/nexized/Iron-Man). Just safe and use it cause I will delete it from the repo until tomorrow. It's working on 1.6.2. But the project has failed because of my former team. I did everything by myself and will not continue this mod.

Yeah I checked it out and everything, it's just a palladium and platinum ore mod. :S
That and the fact that when minecraft updates, I have NO clue how to update the mod, let alone mod this myself.
Thanks anyway though!
Oh, and there's extremis soldiers now, along with an Aldrich Killian boss fight.
