Hey, I really like the new feature in the game to turn of natural regen, but I was wondering how easy it would be, as I am not a coder at all, to make it so players respawn with a different amount of health rather than full. That way, you couldn't kill yourself to get full health back.
I just noticed that if you're going to make the game harder and use UHC mode all the time, it's kind of off-putting when you die, but with full health. If you spawn with a certain amount of health, it really encourages you to get life rather than just die to get it back.
Do you mean on a server or in vanilla? Those mods would be completely different, though probably about as simple as each other. What you could to do is just hurt them for a certain damage when they respawn, on a server. (Command blocks)
Making a mod like this would probably not be too hard for anyone with a good understanding of Forge's event system (Made a little harder by the fact that there appears to be no PlayerRespawnEvent), but yes, maybe you should look into the possible command block alternative first.
