i have this idea of making a mod called " mob-craft " and it's basically about adding a bunch of new mobs into minecraft (and of course blocks, weapons,Armour, tools, items and food but mainly mobs A.K.A creatures) .i just need: coder/coders, people to helpme share it and mod-reviewers. oh! by the way i also mant to add structures and biomes!!!! so who can help?
--Mod Details--
1. there should be griffons they r tamable and rideable
2.sea and land creatures
3.neutral , passive and hostile/aggressive mobs4. tamable mobs
5.tamable velociraptors that are ridable by a saddle
6.mobs that can break dirt (a giant mole)
7.minion goblins(they are little and blue and have different skins) and: miner helmet, wrench, builder helmet, worker axe ,worker hoeif you give one a miner helmet he'll wear it and become a miner and works with you and every thing with it's own job and the wrench makes him a redstone worker
8.and pocks -weird looking creatures-not hostile and spawn everywhere in your world (except in the ocean/sea) and they are the main mob for this mod
9.fishing net that you place in water and come back after a wile to pick it up and may find: fish , squids , golden fish , giant clam
10.golden fish are very rare (they're normal mobs that look like raw fish but gold in colour) and un-cookable (there's no cooked golden fish) it heals 3 heart and 9 hunger points
11.giant calms produce pearls when right clicked with sand and if broken can be placed in water and work as it is or as a decorative block
12.giant clams also produce black pearls which are very rare
13.pearls are placed down as deco. (smaller than 1 block and just placed in the block's middle) while black pearls are used in making : absorption orb and black pearl sword (has high durability and really strong)
14.there's weasels that usually try to steal your food and when killed the give you weasel meat it's edible and cook-able and used to tame hippogriffs

I can also email you images of structures that you want to create
well, i want to add a haunted castle with ghosts that you only can be found in a new biome called "creepy-forest"and a treehouse that generates randomly with chests with cool items!
I quite like the idea and I can help in some ways like designing mobs and reviewing it. Please post back when you get the chance
and, can you make a mutant pig ?(i want to add it in this mod) with huge tusks and a weird looking back? it's going to be tamable with mutant vegetable (wheat + carrot + potato + diamond) you need one mutant vegetable to tame it then you can ride it (with a saddle on you have full control of the giant , fast and deadly beast) and it can attack for you only if the mob/player is hit with a command stick (a mutant vegetable and a stick) and can sit if right clicked and the attacks: throw you in air with tusks , stomp on you (mostly when falling after that throwing attack) and charging at you (sidestep when it's really near to avoid) and when fighting with you it will use them it's neutral

I'm thinking for the haunted castle it should sort of be like an over world nether fortressIf you want to spread the mod quickly some mod reviewers are sky does minecraft, DeadloxMC and ASFJerome
Heh. Sorry buddy, but I don't think you'll get much help on this.
Speaking as a guy with years of experience with game development, most decent coders stay away from the people with overambitious ideas and no team.
You never hear of a successful game or mod that was led by a guy with zero experience asking for everybody to do all the hard work. I'd suggest you take the time to look at the better designed mods and their developers. More often than not, the leader is also a coder and sometimes texture artist.
With that in mind, I'd suggest you pick up a java programming book at your local library and start learning. Oh, and also please for the love of god pick up a dictionary while you're there...
Have a design for the mutant pig. Pretty basic but it does change the look of it surprisingly. Can't post it on this but I will be able to email it to whoever is interested in coding and implementing it, which I unfortunately have no skills with.

whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down, thats WAY too overcomplicated.
Might need to put the taming idea aside for now, release it as a work in progress mod so it can be developed bit by bit if possible, the texture for the pig is pretty basic right now, just a back design and tusks, and a couple of little touches, will that be enough or do I need to completely change the pig from the normal pig?Btw, I currently have a small version of the haunted castle done, it's made of nether brick, slabs, stairs and mossy stone bricks. On the inside it is lit with redstone torches, no windows because they let in too much light, we could make like a stained glass or something for the mod. Please respondAlso feel free to change aspects of the textures, it is your mod, but please don't be a huge control or anything. Do you have mod creator or something else. If you have nothing it will be hard to make a mod

This is just a downright bad idea. Most of the attacks are ill-conceived, the recipe for the mutant vegetable makes no sense, and when it's tamed it's way too overpowered.
If I were told to add a mutant pig to the game(and I didn't just say "Bite me"), I would take something more along these lines:
-Non-tamable hostile mob, possibly created by exposing a pig to some ungodly substance(I'd imagine a byproduct of crossbreeding mycelium with netherwarts, and I don't mean crafting the two together. The alternative could be giving cons to having nether portals in the middle of a grassy field)
-Charges at the player when attacking, giving a fair bit of damage and knockback.
-Drops leather and rotten flesh, giving an XP amount somewhere in-between Passive and Hostile mobs.
I've been around the block in terms of designing features, man
I figured if you guys actually got a coder for your mod, it would do you good to find out how to properly balance and design a feature.
I'll leave a few pointers for you here so you can fix your other ideas:
-Adding diamonds to the recipe doesn't make it balanced, and often times it's completely nonsensical.
-No need to add more resources to the game if you can utilize the ones that already exist.
-If you do add more resources, don't just use them for just one purpose. Make it useful for multiple related purposes. For example, adding pearls to the game just as decoration is a waste. You could use the pearl as an ingredient for some alchemical recipes, perhaps a potion of water breathing or as the base of a talisman.
-We don't need a load of mobs. The time spent making ten million different types of ride-able monsters could be better spent improving pre-existing systems in the game.
-Make sure structures only spawn in appropriate places. IE: no netherbrick in the overworld, no gardens in deserts, no log cabins in jungles and no wooden chests in the nether(who's bloody idea was that anyways?)
-No making things difficult without reason. Seriously, adding some challenges to the game is fine, but it needs to have a purpose. IE: buckets not moving water source to encourage building around rivers and oceans is a good challenge. Making the player have to put on sunscreen to avoid getting sunburns is an idiotic challenge.
Let us listen to the music....... thingy. But I think their actually adding the chests in the nether fortress next update, which is released on Canada day

well actually according to the pig, it attacks what attacks it only and if commanded to, it will attack like wolves. and basically, the pearls are decorative and used to make pearl armor and potions. don't worry i'll not make stupid structures like a tree house in the nether or a nether fortress in the overworld...
