Hello people of MInecraft, In this particular post I am asking you to post any cool ideas you have for Minecraft, such as games to play with friends. Last night I was playing Minecraft with a couple of friends last night on the Xbox and I came up with one game. I'll describe it below and feel free to add ideas that you think would be cool to expand on the idea. Your own multiplayer creations will be much appreciated too!
The game I created last night was simply one team against each other, we gave each other a couples days of peace to gain materials and build a base. After the "Peace Treaty" had expired we were able to attack other players and take bases.
Some faults with this game: - There was no exact way to completely take over a base - Each team only had one base. - Using maps gave away the other teams positions - When a player's bed was destroyed they went to main spawn which could have led to spawn killing
Some Ideas I had: - Possibly make multiple bases for each team - Each team had a specific Item they had to remove and add to a base to be considered taken over - Make players destroy map at beginning of game - One player from each team could have a map as long as they crafted it
These were some ideas and faults I had, feel free to expand on this idea or post your own unique ideas!

Don't expect an easy way to get a popluar topic. Besides, there must be a reason why YOURS is not popular, while others are. Probably yours are a lot worse, or you have a bad rep, or anything of that sort.

But back on the subject of minigames, I think something like the walls (by Hypixel) would make a fun minigame. You could use a randomly generated world instead and have everyone teleport to an arena for a final battle.
I also am looking for ideas. I have already made 3 mini-games but now i'm all out of ideas. I made a jousting game (requiring 1.6), I made baseball in Minecraft (again, requiring 1.6-for a resource pack), and I made a version of the children's game, Four corners. If anyone could leave some ideas I would appreciate it very much. If you are going to reply to this post, please only leave ideas for mini-games.
Basically, there is a team of soldiers on each side, which get enchanted leather armor and wooden swords, depending on their team. Soldiers are dispensable, and are out when they are killed three times or their team's General is killed.
The General gets enchanted Iron armor but a colored leather tunic responding to what team they're from, and an enchanted diamond sword.
He is the most important member of the team, if he dies his whole team loses.
The team who's General survives three rounds wins.

All of the requirements are listed below and once you have read all of them you will see the type of mini game I am thinking of. A) You will need a mod to change the drops of Zombies, make it so that the only thing that drops is emeralds.
You will need a mod that changes what the villagers sell. Maybe even the interface to more of a MMO vender. Also needs to be able to change the names of the villagers. Imagine it like a custom vendor for a world of warcraft private server. The currency would of course be Emeralds. You will want to make this a game you can either put a few minutes into or entire hours. WHICH would mean that the items would need to be priced accordingly. Lets say a vendor called: - General goods (sells food, and healing potions) - Weapon Smith (sells all manor of weapons) - Armor Smith (sells all manor of armor) - Apothecary (sells all manor of potions, maybe even golden apples) - Secret vendor (sells enchantments of all levels in the form of books)
C) You will need a mod that allows for Zombies ONLY to spawn and in greater than normal quantities based on the difficulty that the player picks. Say you have a set number of zombies spawn... 50 zombies per player. With each difficulty that number multiplies by 2 exponentially. For example you have 3 players the first wave on easy would consist of 150 zombies. On medium there would have been 300 zombies and on hard 600.
D) A mod that starts you off in a world that is set up so that it has teleports to different worlds and only one of these worlds can be active at a time. The spawn is a enclosed room with nothing in it except 3 portals. Each portal is labeled with a sign; the first being Easy, the second portal being Medium, and the last portal of course being Hard. Each of these portals sends you to a different preset world that is enclosed (The player can not leave the town the portal takes them too. (I will go more in-depth with the towns in (E)).
E) Okay now this is where you will need some creative crafty and witty builders. They need to make it so that the zombies can overwhelm if you attack them recklessly (recklessly as in run out all at once in every direction pulling all the zombies at once) but at the same time not keep the players so exposed that there is no where to go. So Imagine for the first town (which is portal easy) You need a few buildings surrounding a small castle. All of these buildings need to be battered dented and broken but still intact to an extent. (MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN UNDER SIEGE FOR AWHILE like knocked over trees, part of the castle wall being brought down to rubble village homes being damaged no windows yadda yadda xD this shouldn't be hard to explain).... With each difficulty make the map smaller, so that there is less room for maneuverability (AGAIN it has to be manageable you do not want it to be so difficult no one can beat the waves...)
F) In each difficulty you start with a setup. 1 iron chest plate 1 iron leggings 1 iron helm 1 iron boots 1 iron sword 1 bow 64 arrows
G) Vendors need to be able to be accessed by players ONLY during the day time. (So that they can't use the vendors for a safe place to sit out the night) Vendors need to be out of reach of any of the zombies so maybe making a portal to the vendors and back to the massacred village would work wonders. Of course you want to make it so that a player in the area when the sky turns black is kicked from the vendors room back into the massacred village.
H) I swear I might be missing some stuff here but I think you have the general idea. If someone could create this I would forever love you, and so would the many too be fans of the mini game. well as 1.6 adds horses thier should be new minigame based on the pc action game wars of the roses as minecraft as all the things for it except the shields maybe and someone should develop a wars of the roses minigame plugin for minecraft its just like tf2 but takes place in a different time period
My idea for a mini-game is a sort of a tower defense game that there 4 teams of 5 people, the teams are divided up by sand or gravel like the walls with glass covering the top. In 40 minutes, you have to team up with your teammates to build a castle, when the forty minutes are up, the walls will drop and get ready for battle, if you are the last team standing, you won the war. The materials that you have when you start are 1 stack of 64 redstone blocks, 10 sticky pistons, 12 dispensers, 32 redstone repeaters, 6 string, 64 arrows, 64 fire charges, 5 stacks of 64 cobblestone and wooden planks and 64 glass blocks, and last of all 5 TNT. The landscape would be a fairly large forest biome, a lake, a secret enchantment table, two underground mines with a small abandoned mineshack, a hard to find dungeon with diamonds, arrows, TNT, iron, gold, and redstone, and a lava pool. If anyone can make this mini-game, that would be GREAT, I have no idea on how to make a mini-game so can someone please make it. Thanks!

Ghast (iron sword and bow knockback 2 infinity 1 and fire aspect 2 with iron armour)
Notch (stone sword fortune 3 knockback 3 sharpness 3 renamed "the conquerer" and diamond armour)
pig (6 speed potions a wooden sword sharpness 3 knockback 3 5 healing potions and dyed pink leather armour)
Enderman (64 ender pearls eye of ender sharpness 3 knockback 3 and dyed black leather armour)
Ender dragon (6 ender pearls diamond sword and bow with 63 arrows as well as no armour)
Rules: pick a class then you will spawn in the proper dimension for your class you can make teams invade realms and make a base will also spawn new ores and trees in all realms (like red tree for nether)
at the 5 minute mark everyone will teleport in the glass arena and when someone dies the remaining people will teleport outside the dome.
at the 20 minute mark hunter's will spawn to kill you with 15 hearts and do 4 hearts
if you survive till the end you get showered with diamonds and it says in chat

I'm looking at these ideas, and I think I have something very simple: Jousting!
So, you have your horse all tamed and armored to your content, with a long fence post in between you and your opponent. You both have diamond (or butter) swords with infinite durability, as well as Sharpness infinite and knockback 10. When the command block says to go, your gate opens and both players dash toward each other. The first one to kill the other player, without killing the horse, wins.
Pretty simple, taking advantage of 1.5 redstone stuff and 1.6 horses and new commands.

This would be a fun game to play. I think I will make a game similar to this. One class I would add is Wither Skeleton.(so each realm has 2 classes). I'll post a link on this thread when I'm done

Mini-games are things left to server mods, not vanilla Minecraft.
You can use command blocks in more ways than you think in vanilla minecraft. I made a working capture the flag with 2 teams, and a referee. You score points by standing in the center of the other teams base. It would just give you a point and tele-port you back to your base. Real easy, and entirely vanilla. You just have to know how to use them.

I had the same idea. except that you got to get supplies before the fight because my world is a flat terrain. I also don't have a "peace treaty". I think I should do the that.You should have a specified area where you can choose your weapons before the fight.
I have an idea! Sorry, but you'll have to create a name of your own. there are 4 players and 1 of those 4 players are "The boss" and he gets full diamond armor W/ prot 1 and a diamond sword with sharp 1 knockback 1. The others 3 players are just normal players and they have to collect resources in 15 minutes. after those 15 minutes are over, the 3 players have to try to kill, "The boss". Obviously, in the 15 minutes, there is no pvp. I know this is like another game, but it's a bit different. the boss only gets 3 stacks of cobblestone for building blocks. also, the boss CAN collect reasources if he chooses. well, that's my idea! (Probably terrible)

It's called Armies Rising.

A Explanation) Command blocks can now be set up so that as soon as your pick up and item, i.e. rotten flesh, it clears it from your inv. and replaces it with another item. (Vanilla)
B Explanation) All this can be done with an external game editor such as MCEdit with a CreateShops filter. (Vanilla)
C Explanation) This can be done using command blocks running the /testfor @a command and being connected to a comparator with increasing levels of zombie spawning. (Vanilla)
D Explanation) This can be done in vanilla Minecraft without mods, For portals, you would have to have command blocks running the /testfor @p[c=x, y, z] that are connected to comparators that trigger another command block that teleports you to an area. (Vanilla)
E Explanation) You can "hire" people to do this. (Vanilla)

Vendors need to be out of reach of any of the zombies so maybe making a portal to the vendors and back to the massacred village would work wonders. Of course you want to make it so that a player in the area when the sky turns black is kicked from the vendors room back into the massacred village.
