I saw The Hobbit recently, and it gave me an idea for a mod. In the story, Bilbo has a sword that glows blue when monsters are nearby. Would anyone make a mod that adds a sword that glows (with a new animation, or with the enchantment animation) when creepers are nearby? Of course, a sword like this would be really overpowered. That's why it should be un-enchantable even by enchantment books, should be un-repairable, should only show the glowing animation in-hand and not in-inventory, and should be weak against creepers in actual combat. To craft it, a diamond sword should be put in a crafting table along with an Eye of Ender and gunpowder. I know this may be called-out as stupid, but it's just an idea I came up with and decided to post on here. I'd be very surprised if anyone were to actually make this into a mod. If you do make this into a mod, Forge would be the preferred API.

Well, Creepers are kind of the game's worst enemies to be buttf*cked by. I think a sword that glows when any mob is nearby would be WAAAY too overpowered, regardless of how hard it is to craft or how weak it is against mobs.

Mmm. I'm no coder, so I had no idea whether or not it was possible. I still posted it, though.

It would be kewl to see this happen, though I would imagine the sword is crafted by a diamond sword with 8 eyes of ender surrounding it giving you the sword and it would be repairable and enchant able but the more you hold it in hand, little by little, your XP will drain, just a thought.

would be good if Sword+ was up to date.

Yes, I now know that the Swords+ mod has a creeper-detecting sword; I'm asking for a mod that adds only one sword crafted in a standard crafting grid that glows when creepers are nearby. Also, that sword is enchantable, fixable, and not weak against creepers. Those are other features I am looking for. I did not know about the Swords+ mod when I posted this. Miko's Blade is similar to what I'm requesting, but not identical.

The creeper sword should do the same amount of damage to most mobs as diamond (since it's crafted with a diamond sword), but should be as effective against creepers as a wooden sword.

Where should i place the .zip file? Also what is the crafting recipe? picture is preferred but you can just describe. Also can someone please post some installation instructions.. I'm a little lost.

So by clean do you mean force update, or do you mean clean my .jar entirely? Also thank you for taking your time for that response, and possibly the next one. Also i have some mod ideas that would be cool if you could try to handle them.
