I've been searching endlessly for a mod for forge that acts similar to Bukkit. I run a FTB server, and I wanted to migrate everyone's hard work from there, to the FTB server. Since everyone wants to keep playing FTB, how can I migrate the map to our FTB server, making it an extra explorable world? (Kind of like adding a world to Multiverse)
I really don't want to use Mystcraft to do it, but I will if I have to (If you know how, inbox me on what i should do plz )
Sorry, but Mystcraft is probably how you'll have to do it. To my knowledge, there are no forge mods that allow that. And besides, if there were your users would have to install it too. Might as well just use Mystcraft - keep everyone happy.
I'm looking for this as well. MystCraft is ok if you want worlds with no biome diversity or massive mining worlds, but it doesn't do standard worlds very well (you have to pray you can find the worldgen-only symbol that uses the 'world' generator in a chest somewhere).
I love MystCraft's portals, but I just want extra overworlds that use the same generator as the main 'world' uses.
This is already in vanilla Minecraft.
Esc -> Save and Exit -> Single Player -> Create a New World
Now then, can anyone give a suggestion that isn't an assenine jab at the person who started this topic? It would be quite the useful method for making multiverse servers without having to use Bukkit, and could also be useful on Bukkit servers as a less buggy replacement for Multiverse, if coded properly. As far as I've seen, Multiverse can be very buggy at times, and can even lead to complete inventory loss or rewrite when changing worlds or logging in.

I would also love this mod to exist for Forge! Would be fun to explore a fresh world and be able to come back to my old one in the same game with friends. Maybe each of my LAN friends could have their own dimensions as well as a main world we all work in together.
As the other person said, just make your server into a MCPC+ / Forge server, and install Multiverse as a plugin.
MCPC+ is a "Bukkit Port", in which you can play a Forge server with plugins installed. I am not sure if this project even exists anymore, mainly due to the fact that Bukkit is dead, and that the project leader (blood), is working on the new API Sponge.
I have tried the MCPC+ and Multiverse combination, and all the servers I tried it on threw errors and would not allow the use of Multiverse. Before you ask, yes, I was using builds of Forge and Multiverse after they were "made compatible" with each other. I have not tested Multiverse with 1.7.x and Cauldron yet, but you're welcome to give it a shot. If it doesn't work, I found this which may work, but I haven't tested it out yet.

The MultiWorld plugin has the same issues as Multiverse with TPPI, so I'm assuming it will have the same negative results as Multiverse on your FTB server, unfortunately. If I can find anything that works I will let you know.

We are giving a FREE copy of Arma3 or TITANFALL once or YouTube channel hits 100 subscribers!!!

I used to have a good signature, but it got nerfed.

Seems to be a tucked away mod that isn't well known.
This mod is your answer: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/mc-mods/73312-multiworld
You can even import your saves as dimensions. For more guide look in the Pages tab.
I like the idea of a mod, mystcraft is a bit tricky and rather full of glitches sometimes
