I had the idea of an arm cannon (sort of like Samus') that uses splash potions as ammunition and shoots them over a longer distance than you can throw them. Maybe have tubes on the sides that change color based on the type of potion you have inside?
I have no modding experience and thus do not understand java, so if anyone thinks that this is a good idea and wants to go for it, that'd be great just inform me about it.
p.s. If anyone does make this, you can take credit as long as i get a little for the idea

This should be do-able, however it'd be nice if you gave some specifics.
(ex. Range, Crafting Recipe, ect.)
Unless of course, the specifics are left to the developer, in which case shouldn't
be a problem.
I can't say this is a priority, seeing as how it seems like something that would
take a slightly more thorough analysis of the code, But it shouldn't be too much

Yes, extended range is pretty much the concept and it could add a new "combat play-style" because you could potentially use it like a bow possibly...As for a crafting recipe, the standard 3x3 crafting grid would probably have it just be (for now):
