ok so the working title is The Hypothermia Mod (Don't get left out in the Cold)
The basic idea is the player is exposed to the elements/ weather and has to survive.
The way to do that is by crafting clothing according to the seasons/ biome he is in.
(This would be a great companion to the seasons mod if that was updated.)
In snow biomes the player crafts winter clothing( i.e. Parkas,Snow Pants, Snow Boots) from leather/ cowhide.
In warmer biomes the player crafts lighter clothing from cotton plants that would spawn.
The plants would be harvested and turned into cotton which in turn would then be made into clothing.
There would be extra slots in the inventory next to the armor slots that the clothing would be placed.( hat, shirt, pants, boots).
The clothing does not boost armor stats and would not take damage from mobs or falling.(that could be changed though).
How it all works is there would be a bar above the health bar(not sure what to call it yet) but it ranges in color from blue to green to red.
Blue means the player is cold and hypothermia is setting in, green means player is healthy, and red means player is over heated and heat stroke is setting in.
When the player is in a snow biome his bar slowly starts to turn blue until he can craft some winter clothing.Once the player crafts clothing his bar slowly turns back to green.
When in warmer biomes the player's bar turns from green to red until the appropriate clothng is crafted. Then the bar turns from red back to green.
If the player's clothing gets wet either from the rain or jumping into water there is a chance of hypothermia setting in,in which case the player has to dry out his clothes by putting them in the furnace.
Clothing would have some durability stats like armor does.If a player dies clothing is lostThe idea behind that is so a player doesn't make one set of clothing and has that set for the entire game.
Those are just some working ideas they can be added upon or removed.
What I need is some talented coders and texture artists who are interested in being part of one of the greatest mods Minecraft has ever seen.
What you need to do to apply is submit pictures of textures you've created and or links to mods you have worked on and explain what your role was in creating that mod.
PLEASE SUBMIT ALL REPLIES TO THIS THREAD IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BEING PART OF THE MOD TEAM.
