Pretty easy (maybe?), but can someone replace the Standard Galactic Alphabet used on the enchantment table with The Elder Scrolls Daedric script (found here)? I like the font and find the SGA annoying.
I'd prefer the use of the standard characters from the link above rather than any of the alternates.
I'm trying to do the same thing with the text from a game called "Drakkhen" which had its own simple, but well-designed cipher. My first attempt didn't turn out so well, but a part of that had to do with GIMP using a "fuzzy" erase instead of a hardline eraser.
in your minecraft folder, take a look at the minecraft.jar file and you'll find the "alternate.png" file which has the SG alphabet.
So in order:
Extracted the file and made sure to keep it in a separate folder so I could go back to the SG alphabet if it was a disaster.
Opened the copy
Created a second layer in GIMP
Jacked the zoom up to 400%, so I could work with pixels
picked pixel-wide brush proceeded to (more or less) draw over the original alphabet.
deleted the original layer
saved the file as a .png.
copied it back into the minecraft.jar file
booted the game
Took a look at the enchanting table and copied the SG alphabet after several attempts at fixing the font.
I don't think it's possible to get it that fine. There's not really a middle of the road for that font. But what I'll do is try it out when I've got some time and see what I can come up with.
I'm going to try again and see if I can't get it right this time.
