Okay, so I've played both Buildcraft and Redpower, I've been interested in Better Than Wolves for awhile, and I've heard something about an...allocator mod? Something like that. Anyway, these things have given me some ideas for a mod or some form of tweak or something, so here it goes.
The main draw of Allocator, for me, is that it requires a lot more forethought to successfully carry out. You have to create streams of water going to wherever it is you want it to go, and it gets complicated fast. To aid the item extractor proper, I would think you'd need a sorter of some sort (I believe that Allocater already has a sorter, but oh well).
It would also be cool if there was a block that could take a sword (or other tool, like an axe for woodcutting) and left-click with it when given a redstone signal. The effect it has on the neighboring space depends on what it's holding, and what enchantments it has (ie, you could put a diamond sword with Sharpness and Looting to efficiently kill mobs up to one block away). It could let you create simpler automatic mob traps, as there's no complicated lava or fall or what have you - just a dark room leading down to one of these things. Downside is, it only works on mobs that are right next to it (as in, less than one block away). Also, it will drop EXP just as if you had killed the mob yourself. It would be awesome if this machine could be used with Balkon's weapons, Mine+Battle, or Treecapitator (for tree farming).
Also, to prevent massive amounts of LAG from ruining your game, it would be cool if EXP orbs condensed over time. As in, there are eight EXP orbs at first, then they condense into four larger EXP orbs that give you two EXP each, then they condense into two EXP that give you four EXP each, and so on. It would happen either when there are too many EXP orbs around it, or after a period of time. Also, the condensing EXP orbs wouldn't decay and de-spawn as fast, so you don't have to run back to your base every time.
To aid in the mob traps (and make transferring items into chests, furnaces, and other things) much less infuriating, it would also be cool if dropped items entered a chest or furnace or what have you when they hit it. Also, what if thrown saplings + seeds planted themselves and thrown bonemeal worked on whatever it was thrown at?
Also, I keep thinking "Okay, the Dispenser (in vanilla MC) throws arrows and snowballs no problem, but why doesn't it throw Enderpearls?" And why shouldn't it? If you hooked up a dispenser to a wireless redstone mod, you could instantly teleport back to base whenever you're in trouble. Of course, it would give you 2 1/2 hearts of damage still, but it beats trying to find your items at the bottom of a pool of lava. And to prevent accidental discharges, you can hear an ender pearl throwing from anywhere in the world. If you don't want to teleport, just hold shift, and you won't teleport, whether you've thrown it or if it's been thrown from a dispenser.
Also, in order to set up a simpler dispenser set-up, what if the dispenser fired...twice as slow as the fastest redstone clock when it got a constant redstone signal? Make setting up a casual rig much easier.
Are you trying to say "promises" or "choking implements"? Because one is spelled "guarantee" and the other is spelled "garrotte".
I'm going to assume that you're not trying to choke me, and I accept those terms. Just PM me when you start the topic so I can follow it. And of course you can take them. May I ask what you're trying to use, though? 'Cause I realize I started typing one thing, and then the topic just turned into "random awesome minecraft tweaks".
Going to add some more stuff, if you're okay with it. Be cool if you could throw fishing lures from dispensers (so when the dispenser fires again, it pulls the mob in, for auto-breeder farms. Either that, or a separate fisherman's block.) Be cool if dispensers could throw up and down (to aid in the construction of ender-teleport rooms, so you don't need a long hallway). Be cool if there was an item (a 'la the IC2 wrench and RP2 screwdriver) that could reorient dispensers, stairs, rails, ect. Be cool if dispensers could also deploy lava and water, to make a trap sort of thing. Be cool if you could change the sound Enderpearls make when they are thrown so you can recognize it instantly. Be cool if there was a RP2-deployer style, right-click block that let you place minecarts, shear sheep, milk cows, light fires, place blocks, ect.
ok im back and i want to know where you been? modloader just got updated and im gonna get started but as a warning: I AM NOT A GREAT JAVA CODER! i am experienced, sure. but im not one of the greats! im more of a lua pro, i know a bit of C++ and no python. though i have some python plans...
going down your list here are my ideas: for the mob grinder idea you had i was thinking like spikes that come up and kill things, sound good?

5)this ones a little hard, but ok. my idea(because of 1.3) is you craft something with enderpearls, and it basically works only for you, this way only you teleport and not everyone on LAN(and no crashes offline)
6)wrenches are straightforward. im on it
