I am looking for a way to personalize the colour of redstone, I want it to glow green when active, and be red only when not being powered. But I do not want this to reduce my fps by a drastic amount. I will then privately edit a texture pack that I like to match these changes.
Can't you just change the color of the active redstone wire, repeaters, and torches?
There are 'technical' blocks, and active redstone torches, repeaters, and redstone wire are all of these 'technical' blocks. You can simply change the color of them in the texture pack editor, as you can with, for example, pistons and furnaces.
Thankyou for pointing that out, quite embarrassing. I copy/pasted the links from a thread I made in the wrong section. Did not realize some of it was hidden.
The only 'how to' on changing the colour of redstone I found is the second link in my first post, which does not give the effect I am looking for.
EDIT: it is entirely possible that redstone can be changed this way, the sources I have found are quite old, I would appreciate a link to a texture pack that has edited the colour of redstone without a mod.
After searching for a short period of time, I found this mod.

However it has not been updated since 1.7.3, and I find it unlikely that the modder will return.

That thread shows how to and what happens when you edit the colour using the terrain.png.
I can not offer anything in return, and I know that I am asking for other people to do something for free.
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help me out.

Also, the link don't work.
