Simple mod request, I would like a Diver mod, where you can craft a Diver's Suit and breath underwater.
The Crafting is relatively simple:
= Leather
Diver's Helmet:
Diver's Shirt:
Diver's Pants:
Diver's Boots:
Underwater Torches:
The Diver's Helmet gives you Permanent air underwater
The Diver's Shirt adds more protection underwater
The Diver's Pants allow you to "float" underwater (Basically it's just flying underwater)
The Diver's Boots negate all fall damage if you land in water (Useful for high jumps over 1-block ponds)
Jellyfish would also be added, spawning in ocean biomes and dropping Slimeballs. (Thanks to ninja_master_96 for the idea)
this has been kinda made in SDKS mod. You get a few guns, a nuke block, underwater breathing armour, nightvision goggles and im not sure what hes got planned in the 1.0 update but there should be a lot more
I am familiar, however, I think this would be cool just by itself.

My thoughts on underwater light sources( = Glowstone Dust):

I know it would mean you wouldn't really be able to start exploring much until much later in the game, but it kinda makes more sense this way. The glowstone dust in the helmet would light up the area in front of the player for a short distance continuously, allowing you to explore without having to use up your torches. To make this easier on yourself, maybe have it work with the Dynamic Lights Mod? You may need to ask the creator of that mod if he's cool with that though, I'm not sure.

I am afraid it has been proven that light sources cannot be carried, and I am fine with my underwater torches, but I like the new Diver Helmet recipe, I might add it. (Also, I think that carry-able Light sources can be coded, but no one has tried hard enough)

They can be carried, it has already been coded in the Dynamic Lights Mod( which is why I mentioned it), it just may need tweaked a little to work underwater.
This is a good idea, I've been searching for a mod like this.
Also, wouldn't it make more sense for the underwater torch to take just one glass? It looks like the torch can fit inside a glass block perfectly. Or do this: =3 underwater torches

instead of just one above it it should be more like this in my opinion but you get two istead of one
also dont know if you want just diving items but what about a few new water mobs like jellie fish, fish and maby more?
Then you would be wasting glass.
Edit: You could get Mo' Creatures for that, but I like the Jellyfish part :biggrin.gif:.
