Actually they don't :tongue.gif: its actually less than 1 extra because i copied and pasted from the original which is -4 pixles/blocks because the the 'platform' thing on the end of the pole is 4 pix/blocks thck.
Awesome idea! Could you repost it in the MinecraftMechanics thread, so we can keep track of it and who suggested it more easily? This is a very good idea, and I will add it as soon as possible!
will do asap, soz for the long reply i hadnt checked back 4 a while.
You'd be amazing if you 'redstoned' it so that your giant piston would actually function like a normal piston visually eg. it would slide back and forth
like a .gif image? not sure how to do those but ill have a look into it (:
no promises but :/
Better yet: GUI pistons. When you put in a slimeball, it becomes sticky. When you put in redstone, it throws things, like in the mod. And when you put in another piston, it extends two blocks.

Thank you, modders everywhere, for donating hundreds of hours to make my Minecraft copy better.

Thats a great idea :biggrin.gif:, do u mind if i add it?
oh only 1 problem, wouldnt it kinda be annoying if u had a ton of pistons and you had to go putslime balls ( ;)haha) in every single one?
*EDIT*
never mind i was thinking, in survival you dont even use that much and in creative you would have infinite :L haha
The only issue to me is in the picture. The extension should be thinner than the piston's current one otherwise there's no logical way a piston that long could retract into the base without sticking out the back.
Then there's the question of whether it extends all at once or in two separate motions.

In the picture it does stick it out the back. That is why in the post, he said that you put the block behind it, and then it becomes an extention.
That's awesome then, a two way piston in the same block. Wonder what would be more beneficial, the two way or the extension? Either way if this was added officially it's sure make for some intersting redstone circuits. :biggrin.gif:
This looks like a good suggestion . and that is perry rare . So good job i like it and it should be added to minecraft .
I would sagest having more that one extender . it should be as many as the user wants. You just place more behind the piston as it is longer.

well its really only 1 way because it wouldnt push the block behind it it just wouldnt retract.

thanks :biggrin.gif: and i think is said somethhing like a max of 2 or 3?
as not to make it op. :biggrin.gif:
how exactly do you expect to go with the crafting table recipe as a "pushy thing" recipe. if you are gonna give something we need to craft, we need a method of crafting it. dont you think?
There once was a wise man out with tnt. the creepers swarmed in with numbers unseen. he placed it and armed it with his trusty redstone. now, to this day, creepers leave steve alone.
that a good idea ill get to it right away :biggrin.gif:
already done i just messaged him.
ill let everyone know if he gets back to me
thanks
Mojang should just add back in sticky piston chaining. They removed a fundamental feature that the original piston mod that inspired the addition and the current minimod added.
Instead of adding a new crafting recipe for pretty much the same thing as 2 pistons (as far a I can tell the only game play difference is less wiring, speed of retraction, and double the amount of simple retraction), they should remove the restrictions (add back in chaining) that over-complicate retracting sticky pistons.
So, unless you just want the simpler wiring, in default you can just use a sticky piston behind a regualr piston, or for pulling, use Hippoplatimus' mini-mod with a sticky piston behind another sticky piston (note, it won't pull more than two blocks at a time without the mini-mod, even if they have been pulled by a sticky piston).
I don't use mods so I am sad they removed sticky piston chaining :sad.gif:

so like what darkbrewery said bout it extending from inside the piston, like an antenna or them telescopes that pirates have :biggrin.gif:?????
I actually really like this :biggrin.gif:
Anyway, support. It'd be very useful.
also that mod pistons doesn't extend to the back.
I think its in WIP mods section.
EDIT: Found it:http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/690861-19-and-100-custom-pistons-modwip/
Looking forward to
Fixable. Just involves screwing with CraftingManager.java. Just sayin'

for you.
Take a look at my latest mod!
