This license lets you distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon this work, even commercially, as long as you credit me for the original creation (idea concept). - AbiliTV on BlogTV dot com Disability Awareness done in a relaxed random way.
This is to introduce people to a new and different way to play Minecraft.
The scene - Your mining, crafting, building as you normally do. SSSSSSS- BOOM! Instead of just dieing, or losong only health you lost your legs. Your Still alive, and can still do many of the same things you once did.
Only now you must craft a new object. The Wheelchair.
The first wheelchair you craft will be from wood, and be fragile, heavy, and hard to use for a time. As you adjust to using the wheelchair you gain strength, and better control of it. As you mine you notice that you can still reach all of the same blocks as before. except no more moving side to side you only go forwards or backwards or turn from as tight as a zero turn to any radius. You can not dig straight down as the chair is in the way.
You can mine or dig right next to you, and down. If you imagine how steps work the wheelchair would work only on hills that step in one block up or down increments. Much like mine-cart track do now also. No the wheelchair does not need tracks to run upon. Also, ONLY the player will be the only mountable thing to use the wheelchair.
As you mine more and find better materials, you can upgrade the wheelchair, to being more durable, lighter and faster. With the ultimate upgrade being the diamond wheelchair having the ability to hop one block distance allowing for jump style moves.
The wheelchair would be the same size as one single cube, so the player would sit lower than we stand now about a block tall we would appear of the wheelchair was a cube to have only our heads on top of one now.
As for movement the wood wheelchair would be the slowest, heaviest, and least durable. Oh, yeah it would turn the slowest, go up and down hills the slowest. Cost to build 7 planks in the shape of a chair. Top row far left, Second row all three, and the bottom row all three would allow you to build. The other materials would be used the in the same manner. Bedrock, Obsidian, Diamond.
Introducing this to the game would allow people a chance to experience a new way of playing.
The top most upgraded wheelchair could also be allowed to ride mine tracks both powered and non powered, both types giving you a speed boost.
In order to propel one would need to press the space bar repeatedly, not so often as to drive you goofy, yet enough to remind you that if you don't do something to move, you can not as you once did with walking. Moving and mining would require a learning curve, and time to get used to having to press space and the mine or other action buttons to do what you do.
The better the material the fewer space bar taps you need to keep moving.
Also, in the Menu choice or options screen the player can turn the Disability Awareness mod off or on as they like.
The speed would not be faster than walking for the first few materials, then it would be a little faster, and like the sprint ability the wheeled user would have a short time to sprint to out run say creepers, spiders, or just for fun then slow back down until the health meter fills up. Sprint to long and all of your hearts go away, and so do you. Re-Spawn time.
I would create this, only I know nothing about Java... :sad.gif:
However, I think this would be a cool mod to have as an option for players.

By opening up the post with a copywrite claim pretty much says to everyone interested in finding new ideas to create mods from "Hey, I want you to create this mod for me, but I expect you to give me all of the credit for it, even though I didn't learn java and I didn't spend hours writing and refining code, models and textures to assist in the operation."
