So, I've seen this around before but I can't seem to find any actual mod to do it yet. I'm a serious arachnophobe. Can't deal with spiders big or small, in game or in real life.
However, I just started playing with the Mo'Creatures mod, and I DO want to use the other hostiles. I also don't mind creepers, zombies, or skeletons all that much... but I can't put it above Peaceful without flipping out. :/
This being said, if there can't be a mod to actually remove spiders, can we just stop them from climbing walls again? That's the worst part for me. I know how to make the overhangs, etc., but it's just too real to be fun...
Yes, but that doesn't work for anything other than Monster Spawner boxes, does it? I tried it before and it didn't work like that.... Hrmm. I'll try it again. Thanks.
There are mods like that, but they are all outdated...

Zombe's modpack can change passive and hostile mob spawn rates (as well as their sizes and where they can spawn, plus a ton of non-mob related functions). :smile.gif: I've seen a mod recently that lets you break wool down into string, but I don't remember the name of it...

Disable spawning on various surfaces and reduce some spawns. Features / notes:
option to disable spawning on man-made materials - your house will stay safe even in total darkness
options to disable spawning on various other materials (trees, grass, etc-etc)
option to reduce the population of specific type of critters - up to removing ALL (for example - remove all spiders from the game)
population reduction affects even spawner cages
