For some odd reason, I am completely obsessed with flowing water and building dams. That is why I am now in love with the finite liquid mod! Once I get the hang of stuff, I'm going to build a huge working dam.
Now here's the problem...
What do I do with it all? I want it to provide power, like the water mills in Industrial Craft do, but I can't get the two mods to cooperate.
So I'm asking for one of two things:
1. Can someone make a hydroelectric mod with water generators, power besides redstone, and things that the power can be used for (like lights)? Also, please make sure it is compatible with DJoslin's Finite Liquid Mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/259303-166-finiteliquid-v3-sponges-grates-sensors-rain-etc/
OR
2. Tell me what I need to do to make Industrial Craft and Finite Liquids compatible. I think it's something with the id's but I can figure it out.
in Industrialcraft, the water gens dont actually need flowing water, just water. Also, to power the water gens, you will need the original, unrealistic, water, though you could probably edit the code to accept finite water and buckets, by changing some numbers

If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
To make sure that they are compatible and don't mod the same classes, download the two mods and put everything into one folder. If any files are duplicates (if they both use eu.class, for example), the mods are not compatible, and there is no way fix that, save editing both files yourself. If there are no overlapping classes, then it is probably something that can be more easily fixed, like conflicting IDs.
another mod that uses the concept of "water power" is BetterThanWolves. you can make a water mill (or wind mill) that powers a mill, a "hopper" (it filters out blocks/items for sorting), and a saw
