Oh man, that is beautiful! I would, though, appreciate something roundish in the middle of the wheels to look like an axle (it doesn't have to move or change).
Is there anything you can share with us about how the following part is hard? About what kind of problems you are encountering and what the effects are?
Would you be open to another person helping with those problems? I can't promise anything but if you can better describe the problems then maybe someone can help with insights?

only the chest one would be usefull for me it acts as more inventory and the items in it wont despawn when u die unlike the items in your inventory if u leave them for 5 min so usefull for spelunking and for when u make a qaurry. i would put all my rare items in there while spelunking
but thats it realy and the dispenser would be kind of overpowered
I tested a version of the Cart Mod yesterday, before I lost track of jordanske on irc, and it's coming along very nicely!
Currently you make a "rope" then have it active in your bar then [Right-Click] on the cart you want to have follow you, it will give you a message that the cart is following you. Then you just start walking around and it follows you! :biggrin.gif: The way it currently is working is that you don't need to keep holding on to the rope in the bar either, you can select and use a pick or whatever if you wish. Even if you don't do this you can still push it around a bit like you could a minecrat. The chest works!
The only problems I could see so far were that it can't keep up with you when walking, it falls further and further behind and looks like it's moving on it's own. It will go down hill with you but I can't get it to go back uphill, even just one block up. That will have to be worked out. I would also love it if there were a central axle drawn on the center of the wheels.
Otherwise it's coming along VERY nicely! It is sooo coool to have these carts in the game!!! Thank you jordanske!! :biggrin.gif:
You've updated the Cart mod some more already! And thanks for adding axles and making the pre-alpha download available for everyone. :smile.gif:
Can I ask one more thing regarding the graphics? I think it would work better for the wheels, and make it less obvious that they don't really turn, if the axle is make one solid color, something dark like dark brown, and if the outer edge of the wheel is also made darker and the rest of the wheel is made one slightly lighter but solid color with no variation in it. This would preserve the illusion that the wheels might actually be turning. :wink.gif:

Any chance of a config file .to change the ID 's of the items / cart??
If not what ID douse it use so i can change the BTW id's instead.

This isn't a critical issue for right now, but once the item id's and graphics have been finalized; it would be great if higher resolution texture files (16x, 32x, 64x, 128x, 256x) of everything in the mod could be included with the mod along with their .png locations. This way all of the Texture pack makers could quickly add them to their textures packs, making the Cart Mod that much more of a standard Mod for people to have. :smile.gif: And also it would allow people to add the textures to any Texture pack they use if they aren't already in it.

right click the cart with a spider string to let him follow you.
