A few friends and I play on our private Minecraft server and I came up with this idea to work on a mod that adds to the existing gameplay. We play with monsters enabled and I thought "Why not add some RPG elements to the game?" so my idea is as follows:
Extend day/night cycle by a few minutes.
Add food/water requirements option.
Adjust weapon stats so that they are more balanced (damage, durability, etc).
Add a "rest" function which renders the player immobile until fully healed or key click. Possibly add new weapons such as a canon for PvP styled gameplay (eg. Castle siege) Possibly add additional mob types such as goblins, giants, etc
I don't see any use in currency at this time as not many people play on the server. The idea is to add/adjust certain elements that already exist in Minecraft to make it even more interesting.
I'm very interested in the mobs idea, as I've already seen such progress being made here on the forums. I think it would be really fun when you get that feeling a monster is capable of breaking into your shelter during the night cycle and killing you. I've witnessed pigs, spiders and sheep spawning inside the shelter (which doesn't count) but what if a giant slammed its mighty hammer against the side of your castle a few times and a swarm of zombies entered? PANIC ATTACK! Makes for some extra fun in my opinion. :smile.gif:
