I thought of a mod that may be extremely challenging to code, but I believe overall a great mod. I'm only barely learning java so that's why i request another modder.
Okay first things first this mod is similar in a way to this viewtopic.php?f=1&t=183644 but more advanced. It is basically a mod that lets you have your own town and set the people's behaviors. You wouldn't have to pay the people money to work for you as i've never understood that in mods. "Oh we're completely stranded in the middle of nowhere and will get eaten if we leave your buildings. You didn't me though so I'm just gonna refuse to work." In this mod you have to give people food every day and supply them with a bed for them to work for you. This way they have a reason to work for you other then money which has no value.
Here's where things get tricky though. I am requesting for each person to have a gui when you right click them. For example a normal villager Gui could say go to... for this they would go where you next right clicked. Give... This would be for his daily food allowance or giving them a tool to give them a job I also imagine them having 2 slots in give, one for tools and one for food. Or set bed... you then click on a bed setting it as his so he sleeps there every night. Every different type of person would have a Gui such as farmers could have set farm, where i imagine you would place 4 items (not quite sure what) in the corners of his farm or surround his farm completely with something to make it a farm and you right click there and he starts farming. You could also make a community food chest which you could set the farmer to put his food crop in and you wouldn't have to worry about feeding your people individually. This is my basic idea for this but here are also people
The villager is the building block of your town. They aimlessly wander around until you say select bed so they become part of your town. They only wander around still until you give them a tool or other things such as Seed=farmer, pickaxe=miner, bow/handcannon ( I'll get to this later)= guard, sword=Hunter, Cobblestone=builder, Wheat=baker.
Then you would set where they work and everything from the gui of the newly hired npc.
I've already explained these mostly in the opening so here's just a basic idea. You make the farm outline with a certain item [the modder if i get one can decide what it is]. You set that as there farm and they will farm that land. You can set it so they put food in the community chest so they don't have to put food in everyone's inventory.
Miner's are basic. You give them a pickaxe click follow and set them somewhere. They will mine the area around them looking for precious objects and bring them back to a specific chest.
You set the guard somewhere and they will stay until night or day (I'm hoping for a nocturnal button, not sure if this or really any of this is possible.) A handcannon is a more powerful tool for them. It fires a projectile from it at a high rate which immediately kills any mob but they can't fire for 20 seconds.
A hunter would search around your towns area for pigs to hunt. He would bring their meet back and could possibly present it to a baker for them to cook and then give to you or put in a community chest.
Basically this guy builds houses and other aesthetic objects. You can classify what you want him to build probably from preset designs in his gui. He will then build them in the closest spot that can fit them. This is probably the best way to quickly build towns.
A baker has a simple job, to transform what you, hunters, or farmers bring them into food. You select a furnace and crafting table for them and they only use those. With their completed food they go to the community chest and put it in.
I hope you liked this idea for a mod, I'm truthfully not sure if it is possible to build. If it isn't please don't say stupid stuff that makes you look like you try to be a tough person on the Internet just tell me it isn't. If it is and you have enough free time I would greatly appreciate someone making this mod.
