I liked the ideas of fire floors, and robotic killer pigs. I'm not very much of a coder, but would it be possible for:
floating fire? as in a flamethrower, that originates from a source
and maybe other variations of tracking, killing animals. or possibly attack dogs to patrol certain areas.
-Costumes would be the shizz. you know, so you could take the shape of a or a or a . :smile.gif: Maybe that could be done with potions, which have a time limit on them. These should probably make you look exactly like the animal, that way the only way someone would know is by the erratic behavior. This way it entirely depends on how good of a actor the disguised player is.
-Also, if you made dispenser like things that dispense the actual block instead of just the item that would be really cool.
-oh, and wheat or sugar cane that is bladed, doing 3 heart damage a second.
-Maybe a mechanical squid, to go with the pig.
-Or exploding mushrooms!
-fake players! Craftable dummies that, when placed, just stand there, rotating back and forth every now and then, head turning, but not really doing anything. Also alternative dummies could ether explode when hit or move.
-Fake portals! They go though the loading process but they don't go back to where they should, instead they warp the player say, 50 blocks forward.
-spy glass! Lets you look though one spy glass block and see though to another. (to spy on other players)
-Fake glass. Like regular glass, only the player can't see any players or mobs though it.
-toxic water. Water that infects people with a virus of sorts that could be cured with an antidote. this would probably be green, a stark contrast to regular water.
-Infected meat. Like regular piggy meat, only it will deal damage instead of give health.
^Random off-the-cuff ideas i thought up at school.

I like the toxic water, toxic meat, spy glass, fake players, fake glass, and disguises idea the best. I see no use for the exploding mushrooms is there will be landmines in teh mod. The mechanical squid (and the pig, for that matter) would not be useful in my opinion. The portals sound overpowered. The spiky sugar cane is essentially the punji sticks. The dispenser that makes the block would be overpowered or useless. I think with disguises it would be available in zombie, skeleton, and creeper. The zombie would look exactly alike, the skele would look alike froma distance, and the creeper would have arms... That way the player you are using the disguise on might want to kill the monster, but with a creeper they may avoid it. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, I definitely want the ability to poison my friend's water and food supply.
What if there was a "Realistic" mode where you had to eat and drink every so often? Then poison water and food would be even more handy.
9/11/2001
remove the zeroes and you get 21, get rid of the 9 and you have 1121 then add two more twos for luck and..
those are all the numbers needed to make 12/21/12.
oh my gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood

maybe the toxic meat could slowly affect non toxic meat if they're in a chest or inventory togeter.

But for this I was thinking something different. The mushrooms could have it to where it randomly decides weather the mushrooms A) explode on proximity to a player :cool.gif: explode when the player tries to destroy them C) when the player tries to make soup with it or D) the player tries to drink the soup.
I probably should have gone into more detail on that, but then again I was at school :wink.gif:

ya, i just added that because he mentioned mechanical pig

The portals sound overpowered.
well, for this mod anyways, it seems all we have to do to raise or lower the power of something is raise or lower ether it's noticeably or its difficulty to craft.

The spiky sugar cane is essentially the punji sticks.
Well i was thinking of sneaking ito someones house and replacing their sugar cane with this, so they walk into it and BAM! they kill themselves.

Ya, this was my quick fix on how to get it to where you could trap someone in something like the gas situation described in the op.

well I still think erratic behavior alone would fix this issue, but we could always put up a server with this mod and see if it's over powered or not.
I might try to do some of the simpler ones (such as the poison workbench) when I learn a bit more about modding minecraft, might be able to get this up in as little as a week if I don't decide to procrastinate.
He's just activated a TRAPPED workbench, subtly different in appearance from the real thing, but this one dispenses a deadly neuro-toxin throughout a 12-square radius!
"Well, I can outrun gas and wait for it to dissipate," your target says. Ahhh, but you already thought of that, didn't you? That's why you used redstone, carefully hidden behind walls and beneath the floor, to connect that nerve gas dispenser to three others in the room!
By the time your target realizes this, his brain has melted into goo.
[After burning the morality core] You're kidding me. Did you just stuff that Aperture Science thing-we-don't-know-what-it-does into an Aperture Science Emergency Intelligence Incinerator? That has got to be the dumbest thing that … whoah, whoah, whoah. [Laughs, voice changes] Good news, I figured out what that thing you just incinerated did. It was a morality core they installed after I flooded the enrichment center with a deadly neurotoxin, to make me stop flooding the enrichment center with a deadly neurotoxin. So get comfortable while I warm up the neurotoxin emitters.
But seriously, AMAZING IDEA. Maybe like Assassins Creed: Brotherhood?
I like it,but nerve toxin and such is too modern.Maybe toxic Redstone fumes instead? And the robopig should be less beep-boop-beep-robotic and more like a Redstone-powered golem.I like the concept of crafting complex machines with redstone tech.

Yo dawg I heard you like playing Portal so now you can play Portal while playing Minecraft while going to Hell.

For all modern things should be made with redstone.
My friends and I have a little mini server and play something like this. Using MCedit/INVedit we give everyone infinite iron tools and a golden apple, and hide chests with one red apple in each across the map (frequently underground, in caves, ect). The first part of the game is running around finding apples as fast as you can, and then you try to build bases to keep others out and then sneak into other's. You cannot hold apples for more than five minutes, and no using massive amounts of tnt. It evolves into a race for a diamond pickaxe so you can mine obsidan and keep the others out with it.
I might try to do some of the simpler ones (such as the poison workbench) when I learn a bit more about modding minecraft, might be able to get this up in as little as a week if I don't decide to procrastinate.
If you could do anything you'd be my hero.

You, Sir, have a truly diabolical mind.
Yes, yes I do. I work in politics, so it comes with the territory.

Poisons have existed for centuries, but point taken. I'm thinking robopig in steampunk terms, but I suppose Minecraft is kind of redstonepunk...

There are already landmines.
Thank you, yes. This is one of those traps that doesn't require much alteration, but it would be cool to get landmines of different variety, like claymores, bouncing betties, etc.
