Really awesome idea, although the UI would have to be cleaned up a bit, those random hands don't look very polished.Suggestion:
Emerald Ring - Wearer's steps will grow grass on dirt, increase wheat growth on farm blocks.
Not a bad idea. I'm not fond of the gem idea, though. Making new resources to find that are useful for ONE tiny thing seems like a hassle.
After magic is implemented this idea will be better (assuming gems can be used for magic). Right now it seems like too much of a hassle, both to code and to make in game.

Games that are still enjoyed thanks to modding-
Morrowind, Oblivion, Starcraft, Garrys Mod, Half-Life (And thus TF2, Portal, ectectect), ect.
Modability isn't just a word I made up, it's the line between Minecraft being a fad and a cult classic.
Okay, if no one else is taking it up, I will attempt it. However if that guy above delivers then its all good :tongue.gif:
An idea could be:
[] []
[] []
Where = String
This would create one of those sifter things.
Now when you right click water with one of those sifters, you choose a block (or groups of blocks) and the rarer they are, the more chance of finding rare jewels. For example putting in gold ore will give you a high chance.
/complaint subverted
Okay, that would make me use this mod. Is there any way to check and see if it's a large body of water, so I can't have a single water block in my base and look for rubys in it?

Well that wouldnt make any sense... YOu have to filter out ores and blocks you've mined to get rubies, ETC, out of them so why would you have to do it in a large body of water?

+1 To your sig
Oh! I misinterpreted your post! Yes, that system would work nicely. I was thinking using the sifter in water to look for rubies.
Also: Thanks :biggrin.gif:

What is the up you sons of britches! We are in the first WIP stage here, I've got it working with modloader and I've figured out how to get things to compile without MCP. I'm kind of slow here (life is a lot of work) but these are some images so far of progress (all formulae are in, mining produces gems at a rate which is affected by the depth you are in the world...)
What is that thing, that thing in my hand, there is a ring in my hand.
I have apparently found a huge amethyst. It was hidden somewhere that I did not see.
Edit - simg hates my image names with spaces - fixed!
There you go!

Do i smell a Beta coming?
BUT...................
You have thought it out very thoroughly and I like the idea of having more uses for gold and diamond.
So you have a YAY from me, good sir.
I'm going to support the idea someone suggested. A LIGHTSTONE RING!
It gives off half the light a lightstone block does.
echoing this
my baby, it's hatching!
