As I've mentioned before in a prior thread I'm new to mods but old to the game, and I need help with updating to the current versions. I already updated vanilla Minecraft to 1.21.4 (java) and optimized a world. I downloaded the executable jar files for sodium and iris, but how/where do I put them to update them from 1.21.3 to 1.21.4 in my computer. I'm a little lost here...
When your playing a new version of MC, always make a new Profile and Game Directory folders for that Profile. This will prevent conflicts and problems when trying to run multiple versions from the same folder.
New mods are copied/pasted into the mods folder under the .minecraft folder. When you make the Profile and add the API (in this case Fabric), play the world first before adding any other mods. The API will create the extra folders required, like the mods folder.
I recommend using a third party app like CurseForge or MultiMC to create and manage your MC Profiles, of whatever version you chose.

Got it fixed with the iris installer so now I can run continuum. Thanks!
