Me and a few friends have been playing vanilla Minecraft for a few months now and looking to add some Mods. We are currently have a world set up on a server with Exaroton. Using Fabric.
We are mainly looking for new Items, structures and mobs if possible.
Could someone please point me in the right direction on how to set this up and what mod to use as it seems like there are loads out there?
If Fabric is already installed, then it just matter of finding the mods you want and copy/paste into the server's and each person's client mods folder.
Rules:
1. The mod version must match the Fabric / MC version. You tagged 1.21.1, so the mods MUST be from this version.
2. The mods must be for Fabric. You cannot mix in Forge mods.
3. The each player's client must contain the same mods as the server.

I suggest finding mods at CurseForge.
Hope this helps.

Do you know of any basic mods which add a few more items/structures which we can load into our current world?
Thanks for the help!
Here's a selection from CurseForge:
