Minecraft eats more ram the longer its open creating problems when waiting in a queue or playing for long periods of time. every other day, it crashes my computer. is there a mod that can fix that issue? badlion seems to have fixed it, but I want a mod that works on vanilla for modding.
the problem is when it reaches the limit, my computer shuts down. ill often be at 80% usage and my computer will stop working. I have 16GB and I have whatever Minecraft/forge allocates by default

Curse Premium1. What version of MC are you playing?
2. How much memory have you allocated to MC?
3. Do you have the latest version of Java installed, including 64 bit (if your OS is 64 bit)?
4. Is the launcher using this version of Java?
5. How many mods are you using?
6. Is MC fully closing when you exit the game (check Task Manager)?

I usually use 1.12 but sometimes other versions. they all suffer from a memory leak. is there a mod that will fix the memory leak?

Curse PremiumThe main question you didn't answer is how much memory are you allocating to MC? DO NOT allocate more than half the PC's system RAM to MC.
Example: if the PC has 8G system RAM, don't allocate more than 4G memory to MC.
