Hi :), Im creating a modpack (most realistic modpack) and I was going trough full mod list on curse forge (only 1.14 mods). And I found quite a lot of interesting mods but not everything i was looking for. Im looking for -
1. mod adding weight to items , weight count and effect applied when reached tresholds of weightlimit
2. mod adding nutritient values and thirst need
3. mod or setting that could change the hardness of all blocks , i want the blocks to be mined like in real life , like i dont knowif you tried to dig a 1m3 (propably 210 gallons - not imperial user so idk) of dirt but its really hard - like 6 hours of work (when the gound was newer touched, hard and dry...). so thats 1/4 of the day. Minecraft day has 12 mins right ? 1/4 of 12 is 3 , 3 mins. Is there a mod in which i can specify the hardness even to absurd numbers like this ? (maybe little faster) . Im not adding any modded block
4. mod making llama and mule caravan more interesting ?
5. I found interesting mod made for 1.12 only . I know java a little. Its possible to convert it with my knowledge ?
6. Is there a way if 5th point wont work , to run 1.12 mods in 1.14 modpack, in something like ignore mode , ignoring version errors and warnings ? Would it work ?
I'd say go for 1.12.2 as it is the version where most of the mods your looking for are besides 1.7.10. 1.14 is still too new (and feels like a 1.10.2 again for me with 1.13 being like a 1.9) and only a small fraction of the mods for it have been ported or a few new mods. No 1.12.2 mods don't run in 1.14, and not just because Forge removed legacy code in it's 1.13 transition and is still in Beta in 1.14 it's just that mods don't work across versions and if they do it's between few versions, I mention a few below but in short the few that did were 1.9.4 to 1.10.2, or versions much closer like 1.11 to 1.11.2 or 1.12 to 1.12.2, not support like 1.7.10 to 1.12.2 or 1.12.2 to 1.14.4 as too much changes. I don't know if the Forge team would bother to get it working that way besides what they made add support for or besides what Mojang changes that Forge has to adjust to or if it's just impossible. Fabric mods work for 1.14 to 1.14.4 but Forge mods don't but they are different modloader and have different approaches/goals.
Mod Recommendations though:
1.There probably is mods that add it I just forget, I know some games do it but as a mod in Minecraft, I do not currently as of typing remember the name of the mod that does it and if I did I think it was for 1.7.10 not 1.12.2 but I may be wrong and it could be updated for all I know. But it's not for 1.14 I know that much as I document them daily and the closest mod that does Realism like things is MyCraft for the Fabric modloader. Maybe if I was going 1.12.2 I think Survivalist might have weight but I only remember it's stone and nugget focus before I just wasn't too interested but it's a good realism mod I'd say besides TSON Craft 5 that fits hardcore survival mods for crafting in general, crafting tools/weapons and food options.
2.Tough As Nail adds thirst for 1.12.2 (and a few prior) and other mods like Additional Status for 1.10.2 or Thirst for 1.7.10 and many versions before that, when pointing out Stamina and Thirst mods but nutrient values... I'd say the closest to that level of realism that I know of was something like Spice of Life or some mods I'm not familiar with that may exist (I'm speculating I don't know for sure) I just don't know of them as it's not really my area and I only know of Spice of Life from modpacks that add it. My realism extend in modpacks is thirst and stamina which the two mods other than Tough as Nails I use a lot when I go back to 1.7.10 or 1.10.2 for some other challenge, that and a hunger remover as I hate the hunger system so much.
3.There may be but I'm not sure, the closest I know of is mods covering ores in a realistic way but hardness values mods might exist I just haven't come across any or one in a long time that. I'd ask around some developers if you can how you'd go about doing that to make a mod that can if one doesn't exist.
4.There is likely a mod that adds a caravan I just don't remember the name of it off the top of my head unfortunately.
5.As far as I know any version is incompatible with older or newer ones besides what I state below with 1.9.4 to 1.10.2 or 1.11 to 1.11.2 as things change a lot for Vanilla and Forge. Like changing to JSON files compared to what it was before or just other aspects. I'm obviously a player and I don't have the Java knowledge myself anyways to a high enough level to understand how developers go about it but it may be possible. Just that when devs that do support lots of versions like Bounding Box Outline Reloaded or CraftPresence (the second one supporting as far back of versions you can get from 1.14 to 1.0.0 there is features for the older versions that aren't available as they aren't supported by those, which makes sense sure but I feel the limitations may be clear why even if it wasn't available with those Forge versions back in the day and you add it might work but I don't know if it could be possible for sure).
6.I have no clue how you'd run mods in different versions, as the Vanilla versions changes so does Forge to work alongside those changes if they aren't to awkward like 1.9.4 and 1.10.2 mods worked across versions or just 1.11 to 1.11.2 or 1.12 to 1.12.2 if the developer supported it but that's only a rare case the 1.9.4 to 1.10 one the others are still good support I find but it's not the same as 1.6.2 or 1.6.4 were I think, but I'm no dev so I can only say what I think or have come across as a player.
7.Good, I have only had a bit of time with it, the only part I never understood was making blocks with inventories but creating new items, tools, weapons, dimensions, food and more was very easy to do. But to properly mod you'll need an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) like Eclipse and learning Java a fair amount which many developers do modding to obviously learn Java besides knowing other languages. Mcreator is good but I'd say if you want to start out and know what does what and creating mods with an interface then looking at the code to try to understand what it does might be a fine idea but I'd say try tutorials on YouTube or if Fabric they have documentation if you ask on their Discord which may also be on their website.
