Edit: I'm pretty sure it has SOMETHING to do with Optifine. Even when I use the internal shader, the issue occurs- only when I have shaders turned off completely does it go away. Maybe something with how optifine renders distant objects? I'm stumped.
Hello,
The old thread was related to an older version of minecraft and hasn't gotten any attention so I'll post this here. I know I'm not the only person experiencing this issue however I haven't found a solution.
Main issue:
Another odd bug I noticed:
I'm on 1.14.4 with Optifine OptiFine 1.14.4 HD U F3. I've got a 1080ti and I'm running on the latest drivers (431.60.)
This issue occurs with every single shader I've tried (SEUS, Sildurs, and so on.)
I've tried messing with just about every setting. I've also tried rolling back drivers, game version, optifine version, and so on. No idea what it could be but it's driving me insane.
Had NO ONE else had this issue? I find it hard to believe that I'm one of only two people in the world that have encountered this. Also, update: I tried swapping my 1080ti for my brother's 1080 and the problem persisted. Bump.
Special thanks to belgianfred for solving the issue. It has to do with reshade. If you're having this problem, do this:

Are you using RESHADE ?
I Solved this issue for me by disabling reshade opengl.dll in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft Launcher\runtime\jre-x64\bin .
Hope this help.

I imagine it's something wrong with how distant shadows / objects are rendered maybe? Other than that- no idea.
Bump.
