Is there a way to disable vanilla ore generation in the Overworld while using the Lost Cities world type?
My ultimate goal is to create a modpack that sets up a necessary progression through dimensions, and extends early-game difficulties.
The plan so far:
1-Spawn in an Overworld with no ores or Strongholds. (preferably a "floating islands" Lost Cities world)
2-Collect wood and cobblestone. Begin Botania Progression
3-Create a portal to Extra Utilities' Deep Dark.
4-Survive with your wood/stone resources long enough to collect Iron/gold/diamonds/lava/etc.
5a-Use diamond pick/obsidian or bucket/water+lava to create Nether portal.
5b-Progress to Alfheim Portal in Botania.
6-Use nether resources and Alfheim resources to craft some early Twilight Forest item (probably raven's feather or torchberries or something) via a custom CraftTweaker recipe.
7-Throw raven feather/torchberry into Twilight Forest portal to activate it via Twilight Forest Config option.
8-Progress through Twilight Forest.
9-Use some late-game Twilight Forest block to create a portal to Lost Cities dimension via Lost Cities config option.
10-Explore Lost Cities dimension to find a Stronghold. (Lost Cities dimension will use a profile which includes the generation of Strongholds via config option.)
11-Go to The End.
My aim is to make early game resource scramble last a while longer, and force the player to get more creative with their limited options. One of my major goals is to give the player opportunity to make use of the weaker, early-game Tinkers' materials. I'm also thinking of changing the Deep Dark portal recipe to include some early Tinkers'/Botania/Thaumcraft/Extra Utilities stuff.
But all this falls apart if I can't keep the world from spawning ores. At least Vanilla ores...
As a last-resort workaround, I believe I could use the "floating glass bubbles in space" Lost Cities profile, and use the config to adjust "ground level" to be so high that ores will always fail to spawn, but I'm worried that will mess with some of the other mods' mob spawns. If possible, I'd like to just get the ores to not spawn in the first place so I don't have to worry about it.
Is there a way to do this? The Lost Cities wiki wasn't very helpful...
