So for example, if I wanted the Earth Creeper from Elemental creepers to spawn only in caves would that be possible with anything on 1.12.2?
If not, is there anything that I can at least do to cut certain spawns to certain biomes or terrains? (Skeletons only spawn in deserts, Pigmen can spawn in the Nether and in any "Jungle" biome or "Cherry Forest" biome)?
I'm in the midst of developing some packs here and some of the spawnrates of certain mobs is way to high for decent survival gameplay, and some mobs shouldn't spawn at all or should spawn in specific areas for a more adventurous feel. (Like Terraria kinda haha).
I was wondering if anyone knew of any 1.12.2 mods that had the ability to customize what mobs can spawn where?
(I'm basically looking for the most in depth mob spawning editor mod possible).
Im looking for something that
-Supports all entities (mods included),
-Can disable/enable their spawns and spawnrate,
-Can enable/disable biome specific spawns (modded biomes included) (possibly caves/terrains included?),
-And a nice GUI layout

I think https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/no-mob-spawning-on-trees meets most of the requirements you listed (except it doesn't have a GUI maybe you could try suggesting to the author about adding one)
