Note: I AM NOT THE DEVELOPER OF THIS MOD, NOR DO I HAVE ANY RIGHTS TOWARDS IT. This is purely for information.
This thread's purpose is providing information on the Minecraft Mod Advent of Ascension which is a massive exploration and adventure mod made for Versions 1.7.10 and 1.12.2 (1.12.2 is currently In Development: Snapshot Stage) Also, I would like to share the original Advent of Ascension FAQ, if you want a look. Please feel free to comment down below if you have any more questions, or comments at all, for that manner, here or on the official thread. So, without any further adieu, let the questioning begin!
No, I am not the developer of Advent of Ascension. Advent of Ascension was created by XolovA, but is now being developed by Scimiguy a.k.a Tslat.
Question: Advent of Ascension, AoA, Nevermine, Nevermine 2, Nevermine 2: Advent of Ascension, Eternal Isles, WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?
Advent of Ascension has taken on many names over the years. It was originally Eternal Isles, then Nevermine, then Nevermine 2, then Nevermine 2 was given an official title, Nevermine 2: Advent of Ascension. For simplicity, we refer to it as Advent of Ascension, or AoA for short.
Question: Help! How do I play? What does this thing do? What the...? WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH ARCWORM???
The Official Advent of Ascension Wiki has loads of information about the mod! Furthermore, any help on here is greatly appreciated! As for Arcworm, we may never know... but you can consider him a meme.
Question: I have a suggestion or I found a bug! What do I do?
Suggestions or bug reports can be posted on GitHub. As for bug reports, please post the FULL crash report or log as it can help a lot in resolving the issue.
Question: Is AoA open source?
No, and I doubt that will change.
Question: Where can I talk about Advent of Ascension and learn the origins of Arcworm?
Question: Weird stuff is happening in my world!!! (E.G.: Advent of Ascension Biomes in the Overworld)
This occurs because of id conflicts. Please change the ids in the config files to fix this issue.
Question: When will x.x.x update come out?
When it comes, my friend.
Question: WHEN WILL 2.5 COME OUT?
Let me settle this once and for all. 2.5 IS NOT COMING OUT. AT ALL. I'm sorry if this is disappointing, but it's the truth. For historical purposes, the content that was planned to be in 2.5 is here https://adventofascension.gamepedia.com/2.5
Question: Can you port Advent of Ascension to x.x.x version?
As said before, Advent of Ascension is a huge mod and it is very hard to support multiple versions at once due to this. That is why I suggest sticking with the official version, 1.12.2. (Which is currently is snapshot stage. 1.7.10 is the full release.)
Question: Does Advent of Ascension support xxx Mod?
Advent of Ascension does not add additional content when combined with other mods, but they should work together. If not, please report it.
Question: Help! In 1.7.10, /gamerule keepInventory doesn't work!
Update to Tslat 1.1.3.
Question: Is there an official server?
Yes! Currently, it is on 1.7.10. Please join the Discord for more information and instructions.
Question: So, what is the history of Advent of Ascension and where is it going?
Back in late 2012, Xolova along with a team of other guys made a mod called DivineRPG. It got popular, but after a number of developer disputes, Xolova left and decided to do his own things.
Around April 2014, Xolova teased a new project he was working on, as a spiritual successor to DivineRPG. It was later released under the name Eternal Isles in the following June.
It grew far more popular than DivineRPG and went through a couple of successive name-changes; Nevermine -> Nevermine: Advent of Ascension.
Around Mid-2016, Xolova stopped releasing any updates for the mod, and nothing happened for a while.
At the very end of 2017, said that the mod probably wouldn't update anymore, and announced that he was working on 2 games of his own.
In April 2018, a person called "Scimiguy" rebuilt the mod and started making their own unofficial updates to fix the mod's problems. These "Tslat" versions were liked by the community as they fixed a lot of issues.
At the same time, Scimiguy tried contacting Xolova for a chat but had no response.
Just after starting his updates, Scimiguy opened a Discord server for people who wanted to follow his progress.
On May 23, 2018, one of Xolova's friends joined the server, then after a brief chat, Xolova joined. After a short voice-chat, Xolova confirmed he had given full permission to Scimi to continue the mod, and passed on the source code and assets - though Scimi confirmed the source wouldn't be much use by that stage as it'd already been through a lot of changes.
As of now, the 1.7.10 version of the mod has had over 1000 bug fixes since Scimi took over, and the mod has been completely re-written from the ground up for an update to 1.12.
Snapshots of its progress come out occasionally, with many changes and improvements made already.
After the mod comes out for 1.12, Scimi plans on completely revamping the mod to be much more engaging and enjoyable, with tons of additional content in every area.
Question: I have more questions!
Great! Like I said in the beginning, comment below and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Or, join the discord and ask!
Is this official? No, there is no Official FAQ. The only "official" resources are the AoA Thread, AoA Wiki and AoA Discord. But, I thought I would make a FAQ as to give new players of the mod a source of information. I tried to include commonly asked questions. And I am NOT, I REPEAT, NOT THE DEVELOPER OF THE MOD NOR DO I HAVE ANY RIGHTS TOWARDS IT. This is just a helpful little guide.
