No chance. Minecraft 1.8 changed a lot of things behind the scenes, that regular players might not notice, but have caused big hassles for mod authors. Simple mods updated quickly (once Forge was available), but many of the big mods took a while to update, or are still working on updating to newer versions of Minecraft. I think some mod authors have decided to stay with 1.7.10, or even give up on modding.
Perhaps you could list the mods you're interested in, though. Some of them might have 1.12 versions by now, or at least decent substitutes.
I'm not familiar with DoggyStyle, but searching, I find there is technically a beta for 1.8.9 (not much help if you're updating to 1.12.1), but I have heard of a somewhat similar mod you might be interested in:
Is it possible without having to change the mods?

I was just looking to use the Doggystyle mod and Witchery mod, but as far as I can see they were only made for 1.7.1
Thanks for your answer!

Looking through the comments for Witchery, there is apparently a WIP remake here:

(no precompiled binaries, sorry, you'll have to build it yourself, but there are tutorials around for that if you really want to try it)
Thanks so much!
