Hello! It's just as the title says, whenever I right click on a chest (with or without an item in hand, in Single Player), I'm unable to open it. I looked through the game output and found this, I'm not sure if it's helpful:

Also, I'm running Minecraft forge for 1.12.2 and running quite a few mods (about 49, I think)
Optifine is the cause of this problem. Just update it to the "1.12.2 HD U C7" version.
Updating Optifine like you suggested worked for me. Updated from OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_C6 to OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_C8. I did not have to update Forge. Currently using Forge 14.23.1.2602
I had the same problem while playing sevtech ages as i stepped into age 1, created a vanilla chest and failed to open it. Sevtech ages in Version 3.0.8 uses forge 14.23.4.2707. I had optfifine 1.12.2_HD_U_C6. Updating optifine to 1.12.2_HD_U_D1 solved the problem. I remember that the latest "E" versions of optifine didnt run with this modpack, but the D1 works perfect for sevtech ages.

It must be that, I'll try to use the oldest version for 1.12.2 and see if it works.
Optifine is the cause of this problem. Just update it to the "1.12.2 HD U C7" version.
Chests won't open at MC version 1.12.2, Forge version 23.1.2578 (solved with 2568) and Optifine HD U C7.
It works for me, thanks!
Thanks for the help, guys! I've fixed the problem by downgrading to an older version of Forge, like you suggested!
What version of Forge did you revert to? What version caused the chest bug?
I'm using both Optifine HD U C7 and forge 2568 but it does not seem to work
Give 2555 a try, the current recommended build. Worked for me.
So far, this is the latest version of Forge [forge-1.12.2-14.23.1.2568] that works with OptiFine without problems..
Here is the direct download link:http://adfoc.us/serve/?id=27122866131258
Avoid versions of [forge-1.12.2-14.23.1.2569] to [forge-1.12.2-14.23.1.2584]..
Good luck everyone
There is a preview version of Optifine available at their website that seems to work fine.
Updating Optifine like you suggested worked for me. Updated from OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_C6 to OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_C8. I did not have to update Forge. Currently using Forge 14.23.1.2602
sweet thanks!
I already had optifine version C7
so I guess my only problem is the forge version
guess i'll have to say goodbye to some mods that require above forge-1.12.2-14.23.1.2568
I had the same problem while playing sevtech ages as i stepped into age 1, created a vanilla chest and failed to open it. Sevtech ages in Version 3.0.8 uses forge 14.23.4.2707. I remember that the latest "E" versions of optifine didnt run with this modpack, but the D1 works perfect for sevtech ages.
I'll see if it works
