I can play rust on high, i can play crisis 3, battlefield 4 and battlefield 1 and high and get above 60 fps. counter strike with highest settings and get 150+ fps. so why can i not get atleast 30 fps on minecraft with shaders. its insane. i also tried running this on another computer with an i5 paired with an intel graphics and that got 15 fps. so why is my computer dieing in fps?
Like even my cpu isnt even coming close to being at full use, its only at 10% with my graphic card being at 7%. ive even gone so far as to start up battlefield One while playing minecraft with shaders and battlefield one isnt laggin at all
First: MC is not a typical video game. It uses Java, a programming language, not a game or graphics engine especially designed to run games. Apples and Oranges.
Second: shaders require high end hardware to run effectively. The graphics card seems fine, but the CPU is from 2011. Plus your using the "Java light" version installed with MC.
Suggestions: Install the latest version of Java (including 64 bit) and set the launcher to use this latest version.
Try running w/o Optifine.

wow thanks man! i didnt think Optifine would actually cause problems and i didnt even know updating my java would help, im topping 50fps now. haha and im supposed to be a computer repairmen lol. thanks alot dude, really helped me out. i hope your answer helps alot of other people out.
Optifine is outright required for a lot of shaders nowadays, because it offers features that the original shaders mod just doesn't include, namely things like deferred programs, the #include preprocessor, new uniforms, temporal buffers, etc.

Agreed. And again (not for you, jcm2606, for the thread writer)- OptiFine is not the problem of low fps. It BOOSTS them. But that still means that you need to change some settings, and, if your fps are low even WITHOUT optifine, definitely remove shaders!
he said that withput optifine he got an FPS boost >.>

optifine can actually mess some code that other mods need and it's commonly blamed for causing errors
optifine is a cool mod but it's not perfect and in some cases (like forge with a lot of mods) using optifine is worse

Guys, I figured it out!
It's the drivers!
I reverted back to an old driver (NVIDIA) from 2017 and my framerate immediately shot up by 40 frames!
