Hi just downloaded Forge 1.12. When I go into the launcher to choose it with mc 1.12, I cannot find it in the list. I'm not new to this so I'm unsure as to why it's not showing up.
I click on the Forge download, untick Mercurius option, go to Install client, it says it successfully installed it into the launcher.
When I open Mc and go to choose the Forge 1.12 its not there.
I'm bewildered because as I mentioned, Ive done this before.

Click on the three lines to the right of the word "Minecraft", then on "launch options", then "add new". Whatever forge versions you've added should be under the "version" drop-down menu.

Yeah, that's the problem. They aren't showing up there. I've installed many versions before, but 1.12 forge just isn't showing up in the launcher options.
NB_FF I had to re download and re-install Forge. In my case it was Avast stopping the download while it checked to make sure it was a safe file. So even thouigh it showed in my downloads , it didnt actually download.
This may sound incredibly dumb, but when I first started getting mods I had the same problem. As I was a noob back then, I didn't think of scrolling down on the list. when I tried it I realised had so many versions of Forge that the one I just installed had slipped onto another page of the list.
Isn't showing up for me either (I've scrolled thought the whole thing a few times) , not sure what's going on here. I checked the files and it seems like forge did install, It's just not showing up in the list for whatever reason.
SOLUTION FOUND: The problem was I wasn't installing forge to the orginal install of the .minecraft , some of you guys may have been doing the same thing.
I like to have multiple mod builds so I copy my .minecraft file a few
times and make different profiles for each one in the launcher. The problem was You need to install forge, then copy the file, not the other way around. For some reason if you install forge to a copied .minecraft it won't work correctly.
So yeah- Install Forge, THEN copy the .minecraft, it must be in that order if you want multiple .minecraft builds
Hello, everyone~! VanillaIzzy here. So, I too struggled with this problem. This may not be the answer for everyone, but it was for me. So, with the new mac Sierra, it doesn't let you open things from unidentified developers, right? WRONG. So first, attempt to open your 1.12, it will say, no, unidentified myeh myeh myeh. So, this is for Mac, sorry. Well, go to the apple in the top left-hand corner of your computer screen, click on it, select system preferences. Go to Security & Privacy, or the little metal house as a safe. Unclick the lock. Also, say it's ok to open it. Ok, open it. If it says you need to install a Java JFK, just follow the instructions, download it, its 780 something megabytes though. Now, that's downloaded. Open Forge, and it installs! Falala! You're good. You see it in the releases screen!!! YAY!

Sorry if this doesn't help.
You open your launcher.
Press + to add
Then when you get the list scroll ALL the way down. See picture 1 and 2.

Can you explain your Solution. I have the same problem too in 1.13.2. But i don thave any problem in 1.12.2
There isn't a Forge version for 1.13 yet :L
They've been reworking the forge framework and clearing out the cobwebs in the code recently, it's taken some time but it'll totes be worth it.
Keep checking in on the site, but until then Forge mods will live within 1.12 ^^
