So I just installed forge for 1.11.2 and installed only optifine. Tweaked some of its settings for some performance but the game crashes once I join a server or atleast on my own world. Here's the crash report. Please help me ASAP!

I'm getting the exact same thing. It's the very first time I've ever used Optifine. I tried uninstalling MC and deleting everything from my .minecraft folder and starting over completely fresh. Started off with MC 1.11.2, then installed Forge 1.11.2, then copied in the very latest 1.11.2 Optifine jar. It just crashes every time. Such a great experience. I wonder what the Optifine devs are thinking? "You're doing it wrong somehow" probably.... - or - maybe try the fact that this crud is broke, so fix it?
EDIT: I've found that by actually INSTALLING the Optifine mod by opening the jar and clicking install, it will run fine by itself if I run the Optifine profile for MC. It doesn't however work within the latest Forge...even after having installed the jar. So definitely there's issues going on between the two. This is frustrating - I want both Forge and Optifine to work so I can have nice texture packs AND have mods. I don't want to have to choose either or.
EDIT #2: I thought if I tried on another computer with more ram it would help. I loaded up a fresh minecraft install and fresh forge and fresh optifine on a Windows 10 laptop with 8gb ram and I got the exact same results! Also I can run MC in the Optifine profile by itself just fine. Just can't do it from Forge.
OMG, You are one brilliant son of a gun. Thank you so much for that advice - it worked! As it turns out - after going to the forge site to get that version, I realized that's the "recommended" version anyway. Can't believe I didn't notice it before.
Somebody needs to pin this or something so anybody else getting this problem can find the solution quick.
