I'm hoping to make a mod such as a kill move, which when triggered, jumps into a 3rd person view and animates two actors (a player, and a mob). Skyrim has some good examples of kill moves to show you what I hope to achieve. However I don't want the player or mobs to be able to move freely during the event (by controls I mean) that way they dont get misaligned while the animation is happening. So I'm not sure how I could teleport both entities precise enough to where the animation that involves both actors is aligned relatively well, and then keep them from rotating or moving.
I'm already having difficulties animating one entity, but two at the same time that align in one cohesive animation I have no idea where to even start. I hope someone understands what I'm trying to get at and could tell me how I would be able to mod something like this into minecraft. Also it would be more ideal if there was some way to swap the models of the entities during the animation, that way I could have extra joints so the movements could be more fluid.
I'm really at a lost.
edit: I have one possible idea, I could vanish both entities and then make an animated block that is placed down, and then is destroyed when the block ends, actually it might make even more sense to put the player in spectator so you can rotate around the block to view the animation at different angles. This seems like the most efficient route, but Im still not sure if it will work well. This method would also make the animations incompatible with skins unless I had the player import their skin into the texture I use in the block manually.
