Forgive me if this is the wrong place for this thread...
So all I really want to know is if there is a way to open a door when an NPC dies.
I am working on a quest that when I or any player kills an NPC a door will open at a certain coordinate or in a radius of however many block or something like that. But it would open on its own, like a player wouldn't have to interact with it. I'm not a total noob to scripting but I really don't know where I would begin or what commands to use or the syntax... scratch that... be hella specific. Also I don't know if it's relevant but I would want to repeat it about 20 times. For instance: I kill the 1st NPC (the first door opens and the 2nd NPC comes out), I kill the 2nd NPC (the second door opens and the 3rd NPC comes out) etc... The only reason it might be relevant is because I don't want the door to open if just any NPC dies, only a particular one each time. Thanks!
ALSO. In case it's not obvious the mod is "Custom NPC's mod" not talking about entities or mobs in vanilla MC.
This is so annoying, I figured it out so fast my goodness. However I only found a solution for 1.8 and I need it on 1.7.10. If anyone cares about the 1.8, I used command blocks and redstone and used the /testfor @e[name=()] command.
Seems late but there is the "Redstone Block" in the main Custom NPC's creative tab, it should do the trick. You will however have to set a Quest per NPC which may not be ideal but its not a bad one
2nd idea would be to cover the floor with stone pressure plates and place a bunch of Redstone underneath that while anything is stepping on it keeps the door closed
Make it so the NPC CAN NOT get to a space in front of the door that has no pressure plates so the player can stand in front of the door after defeating them (Also make it so the NPC can't get out threw the entrance either) so once the enemy is defeated just stand in front of the door and since no pressure plates are being stepped on the door will open for the player
3rd idea is have the NPC drop something that can be used to open the door (Redstone Comparator can be used to test block inventories)
Eye of Ender + End Portal Frame (Fine as long as the player doesn't throw it)
Lever (If the player isn't in Adventure)
Fill a chest with a stackable item of your choice, just place a single one in each slot and then set a Redstone Comparator to detect how much is in the chest, Have a hopper (or a string of hoppers) that the player can access transfer the item to said chest and if the items are the same that means it'll be put into the chest thus changing how many items are in the chest, if its enough items to change the Redstone Comparator's Redstone output then it can power the door BOOM
Coming up with Ideas is vary fun and stimulating to me. that's why I love suggesting ideas -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Midna Icon Im using can be found Here

I still need an answer for 1.7.10
Sorry buddy looks like you going to have to use NPC scripter for which you need to learn how to script
