So i am completely new to modding my single player Minecraft and I want to know what kind of mods might include some of the following features im looking for.
I'm a big farming buff, I want to be able to farm more animals like ducks, bees(i saw this one), llama's, and more.
I also like plant farming and am interested in adding items like, corn, rice, fruits, and veggies.
I also want to do more with villagers, are there any mods that actually allows village growth, and villager jobs?
I found harvestcraft, but its really way to many items that dont exactly make sense in the game itself. (smack one bush and you get three completely random items), and the ratios seam way off to real life.
I'm Willing to add items in one at at a time if there are mods for that. I'd rather have quality, then quantity. I'm also not a big fan of machines, but will tolerate it for the right kind of mod. I want it to be more vanilla feel, where you still got to work for what your getting.
do you have a game version decided, or will you decide the game version depending on our suggestions?
i have a beautiful shade made by grapes (growthcraft grapes mod) outside my house in one world. i can sit underneath it and look at a river (simply sit mod). wine is nice too, if you have enough imagination. bad news: only available for 1.7 and you can't have the newest version of forge with original growthcraft (just stay on a certain version and you're good). you can use newest forge with community edition but i haven't tried that one. if you prefer sake to wine, plant some rice (growthcraft rice mod).
unlike growthcraft, harvestcraft is available on newest mc versions, but as you figured out yourself it's one of those mods where the author implements everything suggested to her. that's why i don't use it, but i believe it would be ok if you turn off most of the stuff in config file and restart the world.
as for ducks, you have a problem if you want 1.9.4/1.10.2. i think animals plus has them, but that mod is broken on 1.7 (unless you use another mod to help you define what exactly you want spawning), so you'd need to use mo creatures. on 1.8.9, you can choose between animals plus and mo creatures. in either case, config file is your friend.
