So I've got a few mods that I want to use all at once. The only problem being some of them require seperate profiles/versions to use them. I can't use 5zig with shaders.
After that I've decided to try and merge these mods by creating a custom folder called dragon. I've properly renamed everything (Copied shaderpack) so thats not the problem. When I try to add something to that jar shaders provide it re downloads the jar.... I'm not even sure how. Minecraft is re downloading a jar from an obscure mod in a custom version. This thing that is re downloading is equivalent to the minecraft.jar file, probably because it was once one.
So basically I've tried installing mods the way before this new launcher came. Opened up the jar and the desired mods jar and moved the desired mod's files into the jar. Problem is minecraft keeps reinstalling the jar somehow.
Unless there is another way I can merge 2 mods that use 2 different versions (But the same game version) please let me know, if not help me with this stupid jar replacement.
It seems no matter what I do, no matter what file is edited the mods jar file always redownloads. I've tried launching without a connection but the mod still re downloads. Can anyone shed some light?
I've seen some complicated instructions for doing things like this involviing renaming the minecraft jar and editing .json files to tell the launcher not to re-download, but a simpler answer might be to use a different launcher, such as MultiMC, and install these mods as jar mods, which doesn't require manually copying the files into the minecraft jar.

How would I edit that .json file? I need to know what link i'm looking for to delete it. The Minecraft.jar needs to be renamed to the folder that its in.
