I have been looking on google for countless hours (literally spanned over a month) for a solution to bring something similar to the /kill @e command to minecraft 1.7.10. I have a modded Adventure RPG server running forge, and plan to have the starter city occasionally get raided by mobs. In minecraft 1.8 I had a failsafe built beneath the city to autokill hostile mobs when an admin flipped the lever. This was to be used if players were getting spawn killed or it became too crowded. Either way, I want the ability to kill hostile mobs, and only hostile mobs. I tried using /butcher with world edit and it works with a couple of issues. One, it kills NPC's and any mob without a nametag to include nuetral mobs. Secondly, it also cannot be run with a command block, completely defeating the purpose of it entirely. I just want to know if there is something that exists or is in the process of existing that will target kill hostile mobs without killing other entities. If not I will be forced to run around to each city and force kill them all myself causing the NPC's to reset in the process.
