Erh, I think a better trailer would be gathering up videos of our own creations, rather than one guy making a specialized video. I could bring in my galleon and my survival flying base, we could use the Dawntreader and Steampunk Frigate and for a joke video, physice the imperal ironclad!
So yeah, don't work yourself too hard, we want to make this a community mod

Question to everyone who has the mod:
What happens when you use an OpenComputers hologram projector on an airship? I would assume it crashes the client?

For the sky pirates faction server, I have some ideas for additional weapons and stuff. In no particular order:
Cannon: consumes 1 gunpowder and 1 cannonball (crafted with iron or something idk) to shoot an explosive projectile at a ship. Powered by redstone and shoots straight forward, basically a dispenser with more range.
Bomb: a handheld explosive, can be thrown or shot from a dispenser. Much less range than a cannonball, making it dangerous to use.
Parachute: wear on your back, hold space while falling to deploy, lets you fall slower and cancels fall damage. Very useful if you're falling from a high place. Not so useful if there's only void below you.
Anchor: a very heavy block suspended from a chain, can be powered with redstone to raise or lower. Can be used to attach to a land mass.
Rope ladder: a ladder that works in the air, can be right clicked to drop so you can climb down on things.
Grappling hook: Can be thrown by hand, or shot from dispensers. Grapples on to something and either pulls it towards you, or you to it.
Life preserver: a compressed-air mechanism that places a single gold block below your feet even if there is no block to place it on. One wonders why the design requires a gold block and not something cheaper, like wood. Perhaps it gives an incentive for passing ships to stop for a stranded pirate, or maybe the inventors didn't want people sprintjumping through the air leaving ugly stacks of wood everywhere. Or there's some technical reason that only engineers get.
Catapult: can launch blocks. Adjust the angle by right clicking, then power with redstone to fire (this has the possibly-wanted side effect of lighting any TNT you may have in there).
Cartapult: an ingenious combination of a minecart and catapult. Can launch players into the air, allowing raiders to land on ships, kill the crew and take everything without the risk of Voiding the ship's precious cargo in a cannon fight. Or miss the ship and die hilariously.
Harpoon: Improves upon the original design of the lead, by adding a pointy stabby part. Attach to a fence post and throw by hand. Lets you latch on to other ships, mobs (such as dragons or space whales), or blocks. Note, space whale hunting is now illegal due to how endangered they are, but many believe that the weird anime clans continue to hunt them.
Rum: a magical substance created from fermented sugar. In excess, it is able to give players nausea and a lack of coordination, as well as making all other players seem 500% more attractive. Pirate tradition holds that this drink's influence inspired the creation of the cartapult.
ENDAR: shows you any ships in your nearby vicinity, using the frequencies emitted by ender pearls or something like that. Fun fact: This technology was first used by a British clan. When nazi griefers called "hacks!" and demanded to know how they could see their ships, the Brits replied that they eat a lot of golden carrots. This meme led to the false belief scientific fact that carrots contain the magical property of night vision, now a staple in modern alchemy.
Bomb: Redundant (cannons do this), and dispensers have TERRIBLE range (16 blocks or so)
Parachute: Would be great but idk how to do this. Probably I could use flan's mod code.
Anchor: Toggleabe heavy block? Sounds doable, but the movement thing sounds too complicated, and you can just right-click the infuser to stop all movement.
Rope ladder: Would be great to have these
Grappling hook: Suggested a billion times
Life preserver: Or maybe you could just explain your damn idea instead of leaving some cryptic message, because this sounds useless.
Catapult: Aka arching cannon with overly complioated mechanics.
Cartapult: Would be amusing!
Harpoon: Grappling Hook for players
Rum: Fake tooltips!
ENDAR: Any ships are visible, this would only be useful vertically..
Are you a dev for this mod because the way you talk it makes you seem like one on multiple occasions. I checked like every comment thebest had on this forum when I first found this mod and I don't remember anything on you being a dev so, sorry if i'm wrong.
Nah, I'm not a dev, but I have direct contact to thebest thru Steam and I'm working on my own cannons mod for this
This is very theoretical, but if you had a wither cage in your airship, you could set up some slimeblock mechanic to bounce the blue wither skulls that the wither shoots out into a collection area like this:
Then when you need to, you bounce the blue wither skulls out of the collection area with slime blocks and have them leave the ship and collide with other ships. Blue wither skulls destroy obsidian so my theoretical theory in a nut shell is if you have a specially designed wither chamber, you can shoot out blue wither skulls at other airships destroying any obsidian armor they may have.
And the probabilities for that ot backfire and screw you over are over 80%
You'd have to perfectly time the slimeblock pistons, and whata re you going to do with the normal skulls?
"So does your ship have to be 100% symmetrical for weight to be perfectly balanced or if you place like 1 extra wood block on the left side of your 200 block ship it's fine?" It would become off balanced, yes; however there are control systems in place that can be used to prevent this from becoming an issue. (see new thread)

thebest108: Is it going to be possible to configure the airships to save their blocks at a different position / in a different dimension? 500000 blocks is really quite close to the center of the world. (Unless that's been changed)
EDIT: also, the download link for the mod compat jar is only 400 bytes and only has a META-INF folder inside.

Also: on a server, this seems to be incompatible with SpongeForge.

Hey guys, I've been following this mod for a while now, and secretly developing an Airship Texture pack based on XSSheep's pixel perfection, as well as trying to brush up some of the Immersive Engineering textures in preparation for, well, for lack of a better term rad as **** giant airships. Here's the last craft I made, and I've just started work on a new hull.
I was wondering if there was any way I could get in on the testing so that my designs match the mechanics of the mod. PM me. I have some grand ideas on a server if you were inclined as well.

I'm working on a (tech) modpack that will be centered around this mod. Stay tuned!

Imperial ironclad is very large, is that possible to physics it? I tried once but failed
I did manage to physice it, it's like 70k blocks, the only problem was that my framerate dropped to 5
Might want to include this little creation of mine into the trailer:
CAN'T WAIITITTITI!!! (so happy that this mod is actually happening!!!)
M̋͡ủ̯͜c̛͘h ͋ͬd́̏̄i̔̅s̙̯̿tơ̺ͅṙ͉t̾̇͡. ̾V̠̠e̛r̶͕̗y̧ ̡wͩaŗped̫.̶̒͆ ̶W̺ơ̖w̹!
Question to everyone who has the mod:
What happens when you use an OpenComputers hologram projector on an airship? I would assume it crashes the client?
reck829: Yes, water works on ships. It just kind of flows without regard of other ships/land last time I checked.

I occasionally make textures/models for random people. Contributed to: Tinker's Construct, Growthcraft, and Animals+
PixelQuest 2, my new 1.10 RPG/rougelike-inspired modpack, is coming soon!
Cannon:Done. And better than yours

I should be able to borrow AtomicStriker's Ropes+ rope. It's like al adder but with the hitbox of a fence, and only requires a block at the very top

Colorful! Reminds me of terraria
We should all gather up on my server to bring our ships and make a video outta them. What do you say about meeting this Saturday?
