Okay. Hello all, I feel like an idiot, I'm obsessed with Fallout and I was looking to start a new YouTube Series, and went to see if there was a mod in Minecraft for it. Low and behold there is, I fallowed every step to the letter for installing mods, but it STILL doesn't work, I don't see it in game, I can't find the mods list and it's just normal vanilla Minecraft. Can someone hold my hand XD and teach me how to install a mod and make it work? I've installed mods for other games "Fallout, with Nexus and that's super hard" but compared to this that's a piece of cake XD I'd really appreciate any help I could get!
Things to check: Have you installed forge client? Have you moved the mod file to the mods folder in %appdata%/Roaming/.minecraft? In the Minecraft launcher do you have the profile Forge selected? If you do all of these it should work! If not, can you give me a bit more detail?

With the questions above, what version of the mod are you trying to run. Make sure it is for 1.7.2, if it's for any other version it will not work. Mods are version specific, a 1.7.10 mod will not work for 1.8.

I read on the internet you could use mods without the Forge Client, obviously it was a bad idea, I'm going to try all that you said. Thank you so much! How do I specifically use forge?

Just go to the Forge file server, download the installer for the version of Forge you wish to use. If you haven't already, run a clean copy of Minecraft for the version you wish to use (so run a 1.7.2 profile once), then run the installer you downloaded and install it. Once that's done, open your .minecraft and drop the mods you wish to use in the mods folder (if one doesn't exist, create one, name it "mods" without the quotes). Then run the Forge profile and boom, done. Mods installed and loaded. If it crashes, post the log.
