How laggy are ender io conduit facades compared to regular blocks? I'm considering making a big arena out of them since they can resist explosions. On a small scale I would not care, but in this case I want to make sure the area won't cause an fps drop or lag the server.
I don't know about Ender OI but in my experianc any partial modded block, Biuldcraft facades, Forge Microblocks, ect can cause moderate lag on large scale. If this is a really bad problem you could look into other blast proof blocks like IC2 reinforced stone, Blast Craft, RailCraft concrete, or Resonant Induction concrete. The sky stone from AE2 is also blast resistant.

That's what I would assume with any other facade as well, but ender io facades are slightly different. Unlike buildcraft, extra untils, and AE2, ender io facades do not require a pipe to be placed on, and when placed they appear as a normal block. However, if you hold any wrench or ender io conduit (pipe) in your hand, they will all turn partially invisible so you can see any pipes inside. I would assume that they would cause a lot of lag, but I am not sure because of their optional independence from pipes.

Well I guess the best place to find an answer may be the forum post for Ender IO. http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1291161-1-7-1-6-ender-io-how-many-pipes-in-one-block I'm sure you'll find a correct answer there. I just go with what I know.
