They just wrote a page with some information about your texture pack and then provided a link to your[/b] upload.
They haven't updated that page since my texture pack was at that version. But still, it isn't my point. It is still reposting people's work on there, doesn't matter if they keep the download link original and still give credit to the author.
As I said, just because they give credit and keep download links original, doesn't mean they have the right to post other people's work on there.
By definition, a mod repost is a mod re-host. They are not re-hosting the file download, nor are they claiming author/ownership, so they are not reposting your mod. Would you really be opposed to someone on the French, German or even Chinese Minecraft forums or central mod search site to create a page about your mod, linking to either your CurseForge or your Minecraft Forum Thread for reference? I actually really want you to answer that question.
For as far as I can see, the worst they have done is directly link the download of an outdated version of your texture-pack.
The only thing they may technically be reposting is the text and the pictures on that page.
I'll see if I can discuss the definition of "repost" with CoolSquid or Victini.
I agree with you. Guess what? IF IT REPOSTS IT WOULD PROBABLY BE LISTED ALREADY!!! Plus we had this discussion with the owner a while back and he will link to the official post and/or their adfly and only that nothing else.

If anyone takes my mod they will have to deal with Pylo Devs, because i already deleted the "old" type mods that were made with MCreator, due to them having terrible features.
My links to mod downloads will be secure and direct.
anyone who takes my mods may be found and reported.
My mods are owned by my website/(myself?): BoninFun.
My site has some more strict rules on who can take what though. If you were on my site, unlike others, you can't take any assets or any info and copy and paste... because I don't tolerate "copy and paste" people.
() There are some locks on pages so people can't just "take" something. Yes, I read about how some areas don't care about copyright, but I can still put locks on things, I just won't say "how" it's done
The "locks" are there to stop someone from stealing content. You can thank the website creator engine for that.
Don't like adf.ly? Then direct link your mods to a safe and secure uploading and downloading service.
HurricaneSHLBHP Copied Orespawn im not Orespawn Owner but Freaking really she used Purplpower beams to make sparkle Orbs & the luna eclipse sword is a retextured nightmare sword

Re posting mods also can give you a Computer virus from the dowload plus i think most websites did not have permission to re post other peoples mods
yeah they spread viruses
last time i got googlesketch up it fried my computer
dont get minecraft mods from there
I know; I have to download an old mod from there though because the owner deleted the post. Again, I downloaded chrome from softonic and got an adware called ads by price chops. That was on an old PC thouggh
I want to say they are the mod reissues
You: I think the only things they are copying are the mod descriptions, that they are translating to French, which, at least in my book, is a service with only positive intentions.
minecraft-France: We applied for DMCA. To promote StopModRepost, write us an article on our website
I think there is a contradiction here. They are the reissued ones, but that receipt made it, It does not seem right.
They (minecraft-france.fr) applied for DMCA of https://minecraftfc.com/, because that website (https://minecraftfc.com/) was reposting mods or, at the very least, they (https://minecraftfc.com/) are putting their own advertisement site between the download and the user.
They (minecraft-france.fr) are asking "us" to write an article about StopModReposts on their website to spread awareness about the shameless behaviour that is "mod reposting" and to make "ourselves" known to the French Minecraft community.
I can see that English is not your native language. For the sake of clear communication, perhaps you should have someone with better understanding and mastering of English to help you read and understand this message and help you write your next message.
Hi, I'm also part of Minecraft-France's crew, and I just wanted to clarify the situation.
A few days ago, our webmaster Mister_Ez found out that minecraftfc was stealing our screenshots and translating our articles to paste them in his website, while also redistributing the content in a dubious manner (e.g. modified adf.ly links). As this content is copyrighted, we first reached out for him, asking him to remove the infringing content. Although he acknowledged the illegality of the situation, he still refused to cooperate. Thus, we issued a DMCA notice to the company hosting his website, in order to take down the infringing material. The company reportedly contacted him and now he's kinda upset, threatening us to clone our website "a thousand times". I believe his dubious claim is just a way to annoy us. Anyway, I apologize for being quite off-topic here, but I felt like we had to clarify what's going on.
Now, talking about Minecraft-France itself, as you said, we do not redistribute in any way the mods, maps and resource packs we're presenting. We always link to the official link, and the adf.ly if there's one. We also make sure we have the creator's agreement in case he forbids to share his content without his consent and always link back to his topic/website (that's the "lien original" we have at the beginning of every article, alongside the author's name). However, you're pointing our most serious issue when it comes to mods: keeping the whole thing updated. When we have a Curseforge link, we try to link to the auto-updated download link, but that's not always possible. Thus, we routinely perform a review of our mod articles to make sure they are updated. And we also rely on the kindness of some modders who come accross and tell us whenever they update their mod, which is really helpful. And in the event we miss an update, we always link back to the original topic, where the reader can find the last versions.
One last thing: we are translating the author's documentation in french but it is, as you say, with positive intentions. We're not google translating it (that's all "homemade" :D) and we try to improve the author's description, either by changing the way it's organized, or by beginning the article with a nice introduction, sometimes a joke or just something catchy that will get the reader's interest. We're basically sharing mods to the french community, with all the sourcing and ethics this activity requires.
Sorry for the long post, I hope I've shed some light on our policy regarding mods and I hope I've addressed your concerns regarding it.
From SpookyPowa's reply, I understood that they typically ask a mod author for permission to make a French article about/translation of the description of their mod. In this case, I think they have asked WildBamaBoi, the author of MCA, for permission.
Even if they did not ask permission, I personally think it would be fine for them to do so, if, as they stated, they will remove a page/article from their website if the author objects to it.
So if and only if you know of any mod author who wants to not have their mod promoted in French on minecraft-france.fr and who has filed a complaint about this to minecraft-france.fr about it and of which the mod page is still online on minecraft-france.fr after an unreasonable* amount of time, please tell that mod author to come over here and state their case. Otherwise, like I said in my previous post, please take the fight somewhere else.
*A few weeks up to a month would still be reasonable in my honest opinion.
To be honest, I think that the people of minecraft-france.fr handled this quite tactically and in a well-mannered way:
"So there is this website that literally copies the text and pictures that we put time and effort in from ours without referencing the source. Well, we certainly don't like that and they won't listen to reason, so let's fight with them. Hmm, you know, these guys also technically repost mod downloads, which we do not. And we know this group of people that is really against mod reposting, so let's inform them, because the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
Very neat.
Also, this post is deliberately a double post and not an edit of my previous one, so minecraftplus gets notified about this reply even if he is not subscribed to this thread.
(I'm quoting this post, but I'm answering both)
He's sending us threat messages on a vietnamese Facebook account, so that's not a french civil war.
But as you said, things are quite personal between minecraftc (or minecraftplus, they are the same person), so I won't talk about it any longer.
Just to come back to minecraft-france.fr and StopModReposts, we try to make sure the author is okay with us sharing his content, but usually, their reaction is quite positive once we assure them we don't redistribute their mod and link back to the original topic. Actually, in many cases, the author himself shows up and asks us to write an article about his content. We even have a forum section where they can post article requests (here), so if you know a modder/mapper that wants his content to gain visibility among the french community, he can contact us using that link.
And just realistically, as our website is now quite grown-up (almost seven years old, now), we know we can't afford to neglect the authors' rights, so we take this matter very seriously.
i'm not minecraftfc, i played minecraft from 4 years, before repurchase by microsoft. i want to say that minecraft-france just translates to other people's posts, should not go report someone else is stealing his. You are also violating the DMCA with 17 USC 512 (g) (3).My friend have made Resource Pack and you are re-posted. but do not want to report you.
I say that, you know what I mean. If you have translated someone else's post. Do not report. Unless it's yours
No, it is not. I downloaded from them because I needed a mod in which its official post was deleted, ect. No malware.
Does minecraftsix.com repost? I do not think so but please share your opinion
And again, it is re-posting people's work on there, not just mods, but texture packs and maps. It is still reposting.
I am in your dreams, haunting you!
Can I have that 85%?
Yes, I do. Actually, it is my Texture Pack.
https://mods.curse.com/texture-packs/minecraft/239144-lazuli-plains-hd-texture-pack
I have clearly posted for my pack,
"Please do not redistrubute or post this texture pack anywhere else without my permission!"
And then here it is
http://minecraftsix.com/lazuli-plains-hd-resource-pack/
And I did not get asked from anyone for my resource pack to be posted there.
And just because they give credit and keep the download links original, doesn't mean they have permission to post people's work on there.
I am in your dreams, haunting you!
Can I have that 85%?

Are you also violating DCMA ? in your report provided by minecraftfc, I found this article https://www.minecraft-france.fr/resource-pack-4r-craft/. I would like to ask for those pictures on article you do made at home
English is not good, but does not mean I can not participate in the discussion, MC is the game for the world.
MC france is just another translator of someone else's post, But they think it's theirs. And when others release, they report. Ridiculous
